Comment: We are not sure if our shingle roof contributed to the damage from ice dams this Feb. Our insurance comp says they must see pictures from a contractor proving damage. We simply do not know for sure. The other issue is that the roof is 10 or 15 years old but one neighbor said there may not be ice and water shield under those shingles. The shingles are not curling, but some are damaged by tree debris.
