Comment: Leak repair a month ago, although successful in identifying the source of the leak, sealing it completely, and drying the wet areas under the wooden floor (for which new tiles were installed on the affected area), may in fact not have been conducted thoroughly. Some areas under the wooden floor which didn't get stripped and replaced are now suspected of having water underneath, which may be causing the mold odor. Some portions of dry wall near the repaired area are showing signs of mold.

Comment: I have a cherry wood chest that has mold on it. Whatever it has surely been growing for 10 years (stemming first from being stored in a barn). I only recently discovered it, but have been living with it for all this time. I have cleaned it with bleach and also vinegar -- stupidly doing what a friend told me to do before reading more online. Should I be concerned? Should I just trash the furniture?
