Builders Unlimited, Inc.

After I paid a draw to this company, He took the money and ran. Didn't pay for labor or materiel's. Now I will be out an additional 25K because of this problem. I have to resubmit plans, find a new GC and all that is time and money. Plus I have to pay the subs for the work I already paid them in last draw. We have been trying to work with them and give them the benefit of a doubt. I called the city and they tell me that project is abandoned. I have got Homeadvisor involved thru customer solutions to try and resolve this issue as well.

I hired them and there was a leak underneath our sink that he said was fixed and it wasn't. He said he would come back out and fix it and he hasn't. I tried to call him and his number was disconnected. I had to hire a plumber to come out and fix the issue. I also called the building and code department and found out that his license is bogus.

Our bathroom remodel was completed in June. There was a leak under the one sink. He was supposed to have come out and fixed that. It still leaked. When we came back into town, the sink was leaking. My husband called and Pete said that he would be out on Sunday. He never showed up. Then my husband called on Monday, he said he was busy and they agreed on Thursday morning. He, once again, never showed up. We ended up calling a plumber to fix his mistake. There were also areas, where he skipped painting. He was supposed to have repainted those areas. When We came down, I ended up having to repaint the areas that were skipped. It is disconcerting, when a number is temporarily disconnected. We feel, he took our money and ran. Very disappointed. I really liked Pete and thought he would do right by us. Guess I was wrong.

1. The company is essentially out of business. 2. They have not been able to pay their employees or their subcontractors for several weeks now. 3. I am using their subcontractors to finish my job, but paying them directly, and not thru the company. 4. The project is limping to a finish, which I hope will be in the next 2 – 3 weeks. 5. I am glad that I resisted paying BL on the time line they insisted. If I had, I would have lost money. As it is, I am under budget a small bit. 6. At this point, my major aggravation was the slow work schedule, and the constant pressure to pay for milestones not met.

Builder's Unlimited did an excellent job for me. I love the new room! They were very good about cleaning as they went along, and after the job was done, which I appreciated. If I ever need any other construction done on my house, Builder's Unlimited will be the people I call. Great job!
