Comment: Cabinetry Augmentation: Currently the kitchen is partially open into the living room. Cabinets hang down over the stove and countertop which allow only a partial opening. Using the existing cabinetry boxes and doors, I would like to 1) replace the vanitlation hood over the stove, 2) raise up the cabinets using existing boxes and doors (i have two spare matching doors from another rennovation project). The intent it to open-up the kitchen more to the living room by shortening the cabinet, while still allowing adequate kitchen cabinet space. My initial thought on how this would be done, is to cut off the bottom of thecabinet box, remove a middle section of the cabinet box, then re-attech the bottom of the cabinet box thus shortening the overall heigth.
