"iCornerstone was a great PARTNER in helping design our project. Richard Connolly was outstanding and understood our needs and concerns and put all those goals into the drawing to aid us in building our project. He was very punctual and professional and I could not recommend him enough for any project that you may need a fantastic person to help you in your design needs."

"We cannot say enough great things about Bernie, Gus, Mark and the entire Macauley crew! Bernie remained in constant contact before, during and after, and took the time to answer all of our questions and walk us through every step of the project. From initial design to tweaks along the way, to meeting me at the nursery to design landscaping for a whole new yard, Bernie always made us feel like we were his #1 priority. You can tell he’s a great businessman who genuinely appreciates his team and his clients. Gus and his crew were equally impressive to work with. The quality of craftsmanship is impeccable and Gus truly went above and beyond to make our project a work of art! Everything came out better than we could’ve ever imagined. Our new patio looks like something out of a magazine and we are so so happy with it! Bernie, Gus and the entire team were wonderful to work with and really are masters of their craft! Highly recommend!"

"Ronaldo will provide feedback which is nice. When I insisted that they leave the block edging where the new beds were added he expressed a couple times that he thought it would look better without, I eventually saw it and was glad he suggested it. His crew also added a cute little circular rock area when they extended the bed and some of the rocks weren't needed."

"Helene was very professional and good spirited. She was knowledgeable about how best to dispose of different items (clothes, toys, batteries, paint, etc.). Best of all, she had a good-sized minivan which she used to remove all the things that she felt could be given away to good causes. She let me know where the things would go (I agreed with her that the organizations she'd chosen were good causes), and she left me a receipt to use for tax purposes.
This was not a one-visit project. So far she's worked with me on two days, she's going to work with me another day, and she referred me to an acquaintance for another day as she didn't have enough time available in the period before the work on my house is going to start. (I am on a tight schedule!)

"Great, Dave stayed within our budget and our addition looks like it was part of a whole new home construction. We were really impressed with Dave Kinsella's design concepts and the workmanship was high quality even though we were on a tight budget. Dave comes from a big family so he understands money and time constraints plus he wants his projects to look as aesthetically pleasing to his clients as possible. We would definitely hire Dave again."

"Peter presented 4 design options including 1 that increased kitchen & bedroom space up to 20% by removing unused chimney, which we chose. Estimates were accurate with few extras. Workmanship exceeded expectations. Especially since the house was built in 1949."

"I contacted four landscapers through Angie's List. Two never responded; one got back to me but couldn't do the work for weeks. John's responded quickly, popped by to survey the job (without me even knowing!) and was able to schedule it within the week. Two men came by and worked for three or four hours on the bed. It was too tough for a tiller, so in the end they used an industrial aerator to loosen the dirt/roots, then raked it out. They did a great job, were very careful of the surrounding garden decorations, and thoroughly cleaned up after themselves. The job came in right on estimate, despite it being harder than they thought."

Start by defining your goals and budget. Collect photos of rooms you love, jot down must-have features, and list what isn’t working in your current space. Share these details—and your target budget—during the first meeting. The clearer you are, the quicker a designer can translate your vision into a workable plan and keep costs in check.
Yes, working with an interior designer can help you save money. Designers prevent costly missteps, secure trade discounts on furniture and finishes, and coordinate the project so you don’t pay twice for the same work. Their upfront fee often pays for itself in avoided change orders, tighter timelines, and materials purchased at below-retail pricing.
A full interior design project wraps up in two to three months, on average, while a decorating job takes four to eight weeks. Timelines stretch if you add structural changes, custom millwork, or specialty materials, and unexpected shipping or permit delays can tack on extra days. Talk with your designer about project milestones and build in a little wiggle room.
Interview at least three pros whose portfolios match your style. Review their credentials and ask for references. During a face-to-face or virtual meeting, discuss your goals, budget, and timeline, and make sure their communication style and fee structure feel comfortable. The right designer combines technical know-how with a creative approach that clicks with you.
