"We wanted to keep the original maple floors and hardwood cabinets in our kitchen, but still have it be transformed into a modern, beautiful, and functional kitchen. In the end, everything looked as if it were designed to go together. More than that, our kitchen looked like a picture from the kitchen design website that my husband and I visited for inspiration. The renovation was done in the timeframe that we requested and with a budget that met our needs. I would definitely work with Kristi and her team again."

Customers say: Quick response

"When I began my project I had one thing in mind but after meeting with Randy at Crocus Hill Design, I came to realize more possibilities. He considered my space and my end-goal, did some preliminary drawings, made products recommendations and presented it all in a very professional manner. We moved forward and awaiting product delivery. Randy also provided a contact for installation whose business is now under contract for our project. My project is small but I was treated as well as someone doing a total remodel."

"Very Professional. Started and finished project on time despite weather delays. Kept us in loop at every stage by suggesting multiple vendors for us to pick the choice of our trees, shrubs and landscape rocks. Even suggested ideas to improve curb appeal with minimal cost increase. Even after 1yr, when the sprinkler pipe got damaged while digging for deck post, Alex, came the same evening to fix it and prevented delay of deck project. I Would highly recommend Green Design Landscaping."

"Great team to work with. The job was done a day early and completed quickly. Three window wells replaced and grading done. Very nicely executed, the job site cleaned up, and all at a reasonable cost. Definitely recommend On Board Landscaping."

FAQs for design and decorating projects in Thiensville, WI

Start by defining your goals and budget. Collect photos of rooms you love, jot down must-have features, and list what isn’t working in your current space. Share these details—and your target budget—during the first meeting. The clearer you are, the quicker a designer can translate your vision into a workable plan and keep costs in check.

Yes, working with an interior designer can help you save money. Designers prevent costly missteps, secure trade discounts on furniture and finishes, and coordinate the project so you don’t pay twice for the same work. Their upfront fee often pays for itself in avoided change orders, tighter timelines, and materials purchased at below-retail pricing.

A full interior design project wraps up in two to three months, on average, while a decorating job takes four to eight weeks. Timelines stretch if you add structural changes, custom millwork, or specialty materials, and unexpected shipping or permit delays can tack on extra days. Talk with your designer about project milestones and build in a little wiggle room.

Interview at least three pros whose portfolios match your style. Review their credentials and ask for references. During a face-to-face or virtual meeting, discuss your goals, budget, and timeline, and make sure their communication style and fee structure feel comfortable. The right designer combines technical know-how with a creative approach that clicks with you.
