"Luis is very knowledgeable about design and what works. He was excellent when coaching me on what is important to me in the project. I could not be happier with the result. My bedroom turned out exactly the way I envisioned. I recommend him highly without reservation!"

"Mike came up with a beautiful landscape design for my front yard. His crew came and worked diligently for the whole day until the job was completed. They showed up on time and took their time in making sure that the job was completed properly. I have gotten so many compliments on my front lawn. Great work!"

"It went great. WC Landscaping has taken care of our property for the past 10+ years. They're professional in all areas of landscaping care and irrigation. This spring we put in over 325' of masonry walls and the work was beautifully done. Their employees that come to our home on a weekly basis are always, neat, pleasant, well dressed, polite and very respectful of our property. The equipment they use to perform their jobs is in very good shape and well maintained. We can also rely on them for related work, such as tree trimming or removal when necessary. Their pricing is always fair. It's just another reason why they've been our gardener of choice for so many years."

FAQs for design and decorating projects in Yorktown, NY

Start by defining your goals and budget. Collect photos of rooms you love, jot down must-have features, and list what isn’t working in your current space. Share these details—and your target budget—during the first meeting. The clearer you are, the quicker a designer can translate your vision into a workable plan and keep costs in check.

Yes, working with an interior designer can help you save money. Designers prevent costly missteps, secure trade discounts on furniture and finishes, and coordinate the project so you don’t pay twice for the same work. Their upfront fee often pays for itself in avoided change orders, tighter timelines, and materials purchased at below-retail pricing.

A full interior design project wraps up in two to three months, on average, while a decorating job takes four to eight weeks. Timelines stretch if you add structural changes, custom millwork, or specialty materials, and unexpected shipping or permit delays can tack on extra days. Talk with your designer about project milestones and build in a little wiggle room.

Interview at least three pros whose portfolios match your style. Review their credentials and ask for references. During a face-to-face or virtual meeting, discuss your goals, budget, and timeline, and make sure their communication style and fee structure feel comfortable. The right designer combines technical know-how with a creative approach that clicks with you.
