"Linda performed superbly as my decorator. There were four pieces of furniture that I wanted reupholstered. Each piece was covered expertly and delivered quickly. She advised me on fabric and her suggestions were very good. Timely notices were furnished when there were delays on securing fabric. Linda was a pleasure to work with and her crafts people were excellent."

"Thank you Lily & Team: I contracted with MA Cleaning and Landscape to provide a hardscape solution under my new deck, including a concrete pad and decorative pebbles. They consulted with me on construction day, and completed the $2900 job nicely in 2 days. Being pleased with their work, I asked for help designing a landscape project along a 50 foot stone wall. That $2200 job was also done very well in one day. When issues arose, Lily handled them like a boss. I really appreciated her calling me directly to offer a solution. Lily was very kind and highly professional, which makes a huge difference with me. I am posting this review because I want people to know they can trust lily and her team to do the right thing. I can also highly recommend them for both hardscape and landscape design. I had a 12 year relationship with a prior landscape designer until she retired, and hope to continue using this company for garden enhancement for many years to come. Regan in Clarksburg, MD"

"Xtracare completely changed our patio experience with a stacked retaining wall and a porcelain paver patio that we selected. Our lot is difficult to manage as it slopes towards the back of the house. Their design ideas are excellent and we worked together to plan this well and select materials. They also did an amazing job to control water runoff with a roof drainage system and yard regrading. The office communicates well. The crew was here on time every day and did an amazing job and finished the project on-time and within the budget. A project manager was assigned to us and was very responsive. I would hire them again for sure. Highly recommended."

"The team of : Jordan, Tim, Ethan were courteous, professional, and patience. They, answered all are questions.(no matter how annoying)They met all the challenges of remodeling in an older bath. It was nice to have young men(women)in our home, that exhibited pride and care in the results of their work. Lastly, they left the work , and adjacent areas very clean. Needless to say, we were extremely pleased with the workmanship and materials, choices of decor and the sales consultant.(Zac Green)"

"It was lovely working with them. The moment they walked into the room, they just knew how to design & turn the place around. It made my husband very happy & in a constant brag mood after the transformation of his new office. They knew what will fit his personality and it was spot on."

"Knowledgeable, creative, reliable designer, able to understand and accommodate client's ideas and existing space and design features. I especially appreciated the transparency of the website: options, pricing, deliverables, etc. She provided an excellent final design, "Z-Box, " with options; overall, we were pleased with this. However, it would have been better if two or three different rough sketches to choose from were provided early on in the process; the client's selection and feedback then could be developed into the final plan."

Start by defining your goals and budget. Collect photos of rooms you love, jot down must-have features, and list what isn’t working in your current space. Share these details—and your target budget—during the first meeting. The clearer you are, the quicker a designer can translate your vision into a workable plan and keep costs in check.
Yes, working with an interior designer can help you save money. Designers prevent costly missteps, secure trade discounts on furniture and finishes, and coordinate the project so you don’t pay twice for the same work. Their upfront fee often pays for itself in avoided change orders, tighter timelines, and materials purchased at below-retail pricing.
A full interior design project wraps up in two to three months, on average, while a decorating job takes four to eight weeks. Timelines stretch if you add structural changes, custom millwork, or specialty materials, and unexpected shipping or permit delays can tack on extra days. Talk with your designer about project milestones and build in a little wiggle room.
Interview at least three pros whose portfolios match your style. Review their credentials and ask for references. During a face-to-face or virtual meeting, discuss your goals, budget, and timeline, and make sure their communication style and fee structure feel comfortable. The right designer combines technical know-how with a creative approach that clicks with you.
