"My wife and I moved to Export, PA from California. We noticed that so many houses we looked at, including the house we eventually purchased, had the plaster "Swirls" on every roof and wall. Wow, how ugly and dated. We did not know anyone in PA to call, so we tried several contractors from the internet. Not one drywall finishing contractor who came out even knew what a simple "Knock Down" finish was. We were told to keep the Swirls, turn the walls to flat, etc. We turned to Angie's List and that is where we met Robert Pirl with Pirl Finishing. Robert came out, knew what we were wanting and gave us a formal quote. Robert showed up with his workers, completed the job timely and up to the very high standards and expectations of my wife. This was a two week job and Robert and Josh did great work and listened to our concerns throughout the project. We will be starting the same project downstairs in the next few weeks and wouldn't think of having anyone other than Robert and Josh do the work. Pirl Finishing is not a cheap, fly-by-night Company. Expect to pay a fair amount for their quality work. Robert doesn't do things halfway and we are very pleased to have met him. Final Note: It has come to my understanding that a simple "Knock Down" texture coat is not that popular in the Pittsburgh area. If you are wanting to get rid of those ugly dated plaster "Swirls", give Pirl Finishing a call. They know what they are doing. I have forwarded before & after photo's to Robert to upload to his website. Completely Satisfied Customer - Richard and Tammy"

"Brian had done drywall work in my garage a year earlier. I needed more work after I had some piping replaced. His team came in and got the job done in a reasonable amount of time and for a fair price. The garage was left clean and tidy and the overall appearance of the work done was satisfactory. I would hire Brian and his team again in the future."

"We recently purchased furniture, and during delivery the delivery team damaged the wall in our entrance. Ofelia quickly responded to our request and provided a quote to fix the problem. Martin came the following week to repair and paint part of the drywall in our entrance hallway. They were prompt, professional, and worked very cleanly. I would recommend them to anyone who needs drywall and painting work."

Load-bearing walls support the weight of your home's structure, including floors, roofs, and other building components. Non-load-bearing walls, on the other hand, serve only as partitions or room dividers. All exterior walls are typically load-bearing, even if they have design features like bump-outs or large glass panels. These walls need precise construction to ensure your home's structural integrity.
Removing a wall costs anywhere from $300 to $10,000 , depending on the size and whether it's load-bearing. Removing load-bearing walls is a more labor-intensive process and typically costs more. To get an accurate estimate for your project, consult a local contractor with the specifics of your wall.
Yes, there are other projects you can tackle at the same time when building a wall. Upgrading to energy-efficient windows or doors can enhance your home’s sustainability and can be integrated into the wall construction process. You might also consider removing existing walls to create an open-concept layout or building a home addition for extra space. Coordinating multiple projects can be cost-effective and streamline your renovation timeline. Discuss your goals with a contractor to help you plan effectively and maximize the benefits of your renovation.
The cost to build a partition wall varies depending on the size and type you choose. Half walls that don't reach the ceiling cost about $10 to $20 per linear foot . Full partition walls made with drywall may cost more due to additional materials and labor. Prices for accordion or panel walls vary widely based on materials and design. Factors like electrical work, insulation, and finishes will also influence your total cost.
Framing is the backbone of wall construction, creating a secure structure that supports everything else. Quality framing ensures that studs, electrical wiring, and plumbing are properly integrated into your home's design. A professional installer uses reliable materials like wood or metal to build a framework that meets building codes and ensures your wall is durable and safe.
