"Workmen were late showing up, but I was contacted to let me know this would be the case. Once at my home, it was clear they wanted to do a very good job and to satisfy the customer. The job was tiling a kitchen backsplash using a tumbled porcelain tile. The end result is beautiful and very well done. The two gentlemen who did the work made sure to protect the brand new countertops as they worked, and they were very thorough in cleaning up afterward. Highly recommended."

"On a scale from 1-10 with 10 being the highest possible score. I would rate the work as being an 8 maybe. The kitchen looks very nice. I like the layout and the extra cabinet and counter space. Without proper protection, granite can lose its luster. The finish can turn dull, and impact damage will start to scratch the surface. Worn granite is more likely to stain and crack. If you want to keep your granite surfaces safe or you start to notice wear, look for a local granite restoration company.

Granite countertops need to be resealed every one to two years. Local restoration services can find the right chemicals and polishes to make your countertops look like new, especially if your stone was installed by local suppliers. They can also polish the granite by removing the thin, damaged surface layer. Look for granite restoration services that:

  • Pull stains out of granite to restore its original coloring.
  • Polish acid-stained areas and minimize chips.
  • Seal the floor or counter's surface to prevent future damage.
  • Offer lippage services to smooth uneven floors.

Stained and faded surfaces can still be restored. Type in your zip code and HomeAdvisor will find granite restoration companies in your area.
