THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. Home Advisor dropped the ball on screening this company. "Jay" texted me to schedule the appt. He sent someone else and collected a deposit for $949.50 in the form of check made out to "L. Brown." Turns out this is his wife (Leigh or Lilly Brown) and she cashed my check and he strung me along for over a month with one lie after another-saying the doors were ordered and would be installed but never came. When I finally figured it out and called him out on his scam, he cussed me out and blocked my calls. His real name is Gordon D. Shine. BEWARE

1st choice did not measure the old door before removing it before they found out the new door was not a good fit. This created an inconvenience for us.

I submitted a list on Home Advisory of what I wanted done and read over the list when 1stChoice called. The workers that came out and tried to scam me by saying they weren't told about all the cleaning I wanted and would provide their personal services at an extra cost. One of them ask me to buy them a $50 meal. I told them that I would consider a tip after the work was complete. I did order them pizza. After checking on their progress, I had to leave my brother to pay them. As soon as I was gone, they told him they were finished, leaving unfinished work. The main thing I wanted was windows and blinds cleaned, tile floor, stove top and shelving cleaned. My house was empty, as we had just purchased it.

They do not arrive at scheduled appointment time. They do not call when worker is running late. it was 35 minutes past scheduled appointment time when I called company if worker was still coming. After door closure was repaired and door was open and closed twice it broke again. Called company and requested a reliable worker and not the worker that tried to fix the closure initially; they sent the same person.

The guy was great, and the install had a few issues that we over came, but they only wanted cash and the 85$ per hour that was not clear at the beginning. What was budgeted for $300 , was over $600 to install a door. Was suppose to be here at 11:30, drove to wrong place and forgot Door pickup . Charged for not going to the right place first. Showed up at 1:30. Charged me for trim, I had to make 2 trips to Home Depot myself to save the$20 per trip charge . I would not recommend them.
