About us

2HIRE.US dba 2HIREaHandyman is a construction company offering a wide array of home repair and remodeling services to meet your every need. We love the reviews process and it has allowed us the opportunity in many ways to improve what we do for our clients. Please know that we are striving every day for perfection and 100% customer satisfaction. So in 2015 the new customer service dept will be calling every client immediately and sending out surveys specifically to better assure that we both create and meet your expectations. In 2014 based on your input we fired several crews that did not live up to our standards. We added smart phones and TSheets to track our crews locations every 10 minutes and hours to the minute over their new Smart Phones. We added vTiger so they can use those same phones to pull up all of their appointments and client info. We even added a merchant solution to the phone through Square Register so you can conveniently make your payments. Going into 2015 we are adding several more improvements we feel will assist 2HIRE in better serving you! 1] A totally new and separate customer service department. They will be totally autonomous and free to develop policies, procedures and tools that assure an unbiased report of how we are doing. Plus they will have authority to assign "Service Calls" and take appropriate measures to assure your satisfaction and take orders for additional work you might want or need. * Daily customer service calls to follow up every work order checking on the crews performance! * Daily Surveys emailed to clients for every work order checking on the companies performance! 2] A totally new web presences at 2HIRE.US. Be sure to go and check it out. It will be more up to date with a whole new look and improved functionality. It's live already but still being developed. 3] "Expectation Sheets" for each of the separate trades. Designed to give you the client a much better idea of what you can expect. A reality check to better inform and educate as to what you can realistically expect from your 2HIRE technician. * (Example: a 4 hour painting coupon is intended to prep, tape and mask off then paint one accent wall 2 coats and clean up afterwards or trim out one room 2 coats or paint one ceiling but it will not paint your 2 story front foyer. It probably won't quite finish 1 coat in an average room 10L x 12W x 8Ht). That would be extra. 4] Online Documentation! Crews are going to have access to online documents. Right on their phones they will be able to share with you; estimates, change orders, the Expectation Sheets, their hours, coupons and other offers etc, get your approvals and even have you sign when necessary.

the job site was a mess, we were required to move all the client's belongings (not part of the service in this case) and then were required to go back and move them all again to clean the area where they had been left stacked. The contractor made more messes on teh carpet and made us clean it up without compensation... got paid but he never paid us. He took our money and put it in his pocket. And changed his phone number.

The remodel was adequate, the two folks working on my bathroom, I appreciated. The job was supposed to cost 5999.00 (a special) but ended up at 7000.00 as they kept calling for more money. My tub was paid for in the 5999.00 amt, then returned due to being the "wrong handed" direction. They credited their own 2Hire account and then charged me another 200.00 to replace it (over the phone at Home Depot) . I was never refunded the 200.00 after at least 5 different emails asking for it. I gave up trying to get it back, until I saw the "Trust Dale" site highly recommended their service. So I made one more attempt to ask for it back about a month ago and didn't even get a reply to my email. Their bookkeeping is non-existent, evidently, and my receipt for the work they were to do for me was scribbled on a piece of paper the fellow found in his truck. I have put off reviewing the work they did for me for over a year, as I don't like to discredit folks, everyone makes mistakes. But his lack of addressing this issue has gotten to me as I am not rich and can't waste money. My confidence in any handyman service has been tainted by this experience.
The provider was professional & punctual. When he arrived and I explained what was needed, he realized that he would need another person since the job would require some electrical work. He explained to me that this type of work was beyond the scope of what could be done under the 8 hours of "handyman service" that I had purchased and I would need to pay extra for the additional work. Since they were already onsite, decided to pay for the additional service (~$200).
They did an OK job. They were not as thorough as I would of like. For example, the mirrors that they hung in the master bathroom were not levered. One was slightly higher than the other.
The kitchen faucet become very loose a couple of months after it was installed. I called them and they were quick to send someone back to fix the problem, but had the same issue a couple of months later. I had my dad looked at it when he visit, and he was able to diagnose the problem. Apparently, the provider didn't read the instructions and followed the wrong procedure when installing the faucet. They weren't suppose to use a particular part when installing the faucet on counter tops greater than 3 inches and they did causing this issue.
Overall - I thought they had good customer service. They were prompt & professional, but I wasn't enchanted with the knowledge of their professionals and wouldn't use them in the future.
I deferred submitting my review because it takes time for the quality of the work to be validated when it comes to grout. I have had many handymen supposedly fix the grout in the shower and within a few months it's failing again. This provider did an outstanding job and a year later the grout has held. He took the time to fully remove and replace the grout and I can finally stop watching the grout crumble and float down the drain.
It was a scorching hot day and the carpenter kept feeling sick from the sun and having to go lay down in his air conditioned truck which was parked in the front of our house. He did not bring any provisions to keep himself cool out there. ( ex: coll wraps, fans, water, ice, etc ) The problem is, the carpenter didn't make the cuts so that things fit tight enough, he left big gaps in the wood that he nailed together. He left a bit of a mess on the side of my house also. I felt like he didn't do his best and cut corners, or got frustrated and tired and so made careless mistakes. I wouldn't hire the same person again for any work that required a high level of detail or precision..
There were additional charges to the $199 Big Deal. They messed up my alarm system and stucco. They cracked the trim on my windows and just kind of stuck it back up there and glued it real messily and everything. They did not even point these things out; that is the thing. It was poor communication. They were there on time. There were just things that I thought they should have communicated to me like leaving for the day. One guy seemed to be the one in-charge. Two guys came out to help him. Then, something happened and they had to leave. He hurt his hand and so that guy had to leave and the other had to take him. No one says anything. The other guy was completely frustrated. It was so obvious. The second day he had to come back, but he brings his son because he had to take care of his child. I guess he had not intended coming back that second day if he had the proper help so he had no choice to bring his child. I have kids so it was no big deal. I said it was no big deal, but it was just not very professional. It was just how they handled my whole job. Even the manager tried to resolve my issue and tried to remit me the $100, but I told him it was going to take more than that. I am very unhappy

A lot of promises in the beginning by owner, but once contract signed never saw the owner again.
Crew sent to do work had a great foreman (Troy) who did his best to keep the project on track and going.
Assistance to be provided in picking out materials was not good and actually provided bad advice at one point in the process that had to be reversed with new materials being decided upon.
Much bad communication between self and owner as I was very specific on contract that I wanted materials estimate included; which was done at a estimate of $8,600 but in fact ran over $17,000. As I raised this concern to owner during work he stated that the materials I'd picked were not what he provided the quote on; but at no time did he provide me any information on what he was basing his estimate on so I could decide if I wanted to go over his estimate or not. This price difference came to being known as the project was nearing completion when it was basically too late to do anything about it.
Aspects of the project (i.e. picking counter top and selecting a shower enclosure) were not very clearly communicated that I was suppose to find and work with the outside vendor until the item was needed, at which time I was asked "what I'd done".
As indicated the project foreman was very good (along with 1-2 of the general workers) and did all he could to keep things going; but I think the "skilled sub-workers" for 2-Hire-A-Handyman weren't committed enough to the company as a result from start to end of the project we had multiple people doing plumbing, painting, tile-work with changes happening when a "sub' was let go. All this resulted in some aspects of the project being less than good.
This was not a good experience and definitely would not use 2-Hire-A-Handyman again.
