Barrett Brother's Restoration

ANDREW BARRETT came for estimate on February 3rd. he said he would give me an excellent discount because i could use the tiles he had stored in "a warehouse" and "i would like the color" on Feb 9, He told me he would take old tiles up and remove wall to wall carpeting and it would take about 7-10 days. there was 880 square feet. Feb. 11 i asked him for a price. he said he'd bring it the next day :$7000. and he forgot to bring a contract. BUT I DIDN'T SEE THAT FOR 12 DAYS LATER. He started to pull carpet morning of Feb 14 left for lunch at 12:12, NEVER CAME BACK! Some days he didn't show up, some days he worked about 6-8 hours, most days he had an excuse why he was late or had to leave early. He said time was not important and get off his back! He'd tell me he would be early and not show up until "after lunch or after PT or after dentist"". One day he said he had to go to home depot for something and he was gone THREE hours!. I signed a contract for 7k. on Feb. 17. twelve days later, he added a page of changes to his contract and told me the CHANGES cost $1500 more but never had me approve them!! then he said if i didn't sign the amended contract he would pack up and leave- the floor was less than half done! he wanted cash or he'd leave. he was paid for 2/3s of his new price and the next day (Feb. 27) he LEFT WITH THE REMAINDER OF THE TILES THAT WERE TO FINISH MY FLOOR! When i called a Pro to ask if they could finish the tiling- they wouldn't touch it because it was done so poorly. i had to pay $8600 to pull up Andrew's terrible work and start all over! (grout sporadic and a mess, not enough mortar, didn't fill cracks!!). the pros i hired finished the entire demolition and re-tiling in 9 days. Barrett left me high and dry after 23 days! DON'T CALL HIM! PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR GUT- AND THE RED FLAGS!

Andrew Barrett is excellant customer service,very trustworthy,39 years of experience work is superb,he met our expectations and then some,,his employees are polite,Excellant craftmenship,mr.Barrett has a perfect 10 in my book,i would rate him, and refer him and his Company to anyone!!!

Did not answer calls about the job. Showed up sporadically. Some days worked long days another day 2 hours. Specifically requested a room to be finished ( just needed to be grouted all tile cut and laid days before) so I can move some of the furniture out of the common area and only grouted about half that day and left! Unreliable help. When the help showed up productivity was half. Neighbors and community watch complained about the trailer on the street for weeks, help was disruptive to the quiet neighborhood screaming on his phone and walking up and down the street. I was away and they decided to mix grout in my home not outside or in the garage everything is coated in grout dust and my dogs are hacking up grout dust. If he worked an 8-hour day, this job would have been done at least a week ago. He does good work when he shows up and he is pleasant but help is not trustworthy and I specifically asked a certain staff not to be at my home while I was not there and he was. That is not trustworthy, especially after saying he fired said employee. That is lying. Just want this job done. Gave him 48 hours to finish, clean out his stuff so I can pay him and be done. More than enough time to grout 2 12 by 13 bedrooms and the hallway outside of the rooms. Almost 9 am no response to my texts and no one has showed so far today.
