The contractor was very difficult to work with and a lot of his men did not speak English. He was rarely there and only to pick up another check. He constantly badgered me to recommend him for more lucrative projects and then abandoned us. The cream on the cake was when he stole our ladders and my sink. All told we figure he owes us $16,000+

The entire situation was a nightmare and I can echo other reviews here. First, the job was renovating two very small bathrooms. A straight forward and simple project. This is for a second home and we allowed Rishi and his crew to come and go as they pleased. The house was vacant, so we’d be out of their way for the 3-4 weeks, we were told the project would take. We even built in two extra weeks for unexpected delays. Rishi was available to start right away, and the price seemed reasonable, so we hired him. That should’ve been our first clue since any reputable contractors were currently booked months out. What we were initially told was conservatively a one-month job was not “completed” for 3 months. The demo was done right away, but then the project got immediately behind schedule and no work was done for at least a week. Rishi then continually moved the goal posts, for completion, over a 6-8-week period. We planned and often made unnecessary commutes back and forth for the “final walkthrough” after being told multiple times that the job would be done by X date. Rishi kept finding things wrong. To his credit, he followed up, but clearly not in a timely manner. Measure once, cut three times is Rishi’s motto. It seemed to never end and once we had enough, we hired another contractor to fix the mistakes that they could. We even offered to finalize and pay him the full amount, so he wouldn’t come back. The work itself was mediocre, at best. The tile was cut uneven after installing the wrong tile. Multiple fixtures were hung uneven, unsecured, and off-center. A brand-new bathtub was installed damaged and stained. Rishi still isn’t sure if it was when they picked it up or installed it. Either way, not my problem and unacceptable for a brand-new renovation. The house and property were completely disrespected. Trash from the initial demo was left uncovered in multiple locations and outside for months. It was snowed on, blew all over the yard and into the neighbor’s yard. Mountain wildlife feasted on food scraps and dozens of cigarette butts still litter the yard and driveway. After the neighbors rightly complained about the trash, we hired a trash removal service to come out. Rishi said he couldn’t remove because of the snow. No s***. Why did you leave trash outside for months in the first place, let alone to get snowed on? However, the damage was more surprising inside the house. The first time, I came back for the night, I discovered pieces of tile in the garbage disposal, dirty wine glasses in the sink, and moldy food left in the fridge. I have no idea how someone could think this is acceptable. Why and what were they possibly doing with the wine glasses? In the kitchen, grout had obviously been mixed in the sink, and likely other work done on our newer countertops. Many of our personal items were used as tools or buckets. In the end, he charged us more than the project cost and agreed to reimburse for the difference. That was over three months ago, and I am still waiting for the reimbursement. Rishi will have a myriad of excuses for all of this, but just look at the other negative reviews. I’m sure he’s sub-contracting out to the lowest bidder and he will blame his sub-contractors, but ultimately the buck stops with him.

DO NOT HIRE this contractor !!! Everything started out fine when we first hired Rishi. He was communicative and responsive and came to work, however, as the project went on, things were done wrong. He sends his workers and lets them work unsupervised, therefore, lots of mistakes are made. We hired him at the beginning of October and the job is still not completed. we paid for roof and gutters and are still waiting to receive the gutters. An excavation was done for a "draining system" that is a total disaster and does not work. Every professional that we brought in after the fact to see if they can fix it have been shocked and told us that it was an absolute botched unacceptable job. We paid over 35K for multiple things of which some were not completed or needed to be fixed. The bathtub spout broke because it was installed with PEX , which is completely wrong. The house was supposed to get painted and after waiting all winter because the weather was not right, we have been trying to get Rishi to come paint for 4 months now. He is ignoring our calls and whenever he answers (1 time out of 10 ) It is with a text that says i will call you back , and then he never does. We are starting legal proceedings against this company. Please don't waste your time and money with this contractor.

This is an update to J.Monger's review of our kitchen makeover that was posted on 1/12/2022. Rishi aka Richard from Poconos Restoration gave us a quote of $25,000. to remove and replace kitchen cabinets and countertops. In addition, he was also going to replace the bay window in our living room. Richard guaranteed us that the job would be completed in one month. We gave him a check for $10,000. to order the cabinets. Work began on 9/28/21. Old cabinets were removed, new dry wall was installed without tapping or mudding. As per our contract, another $5000. check was given. Unfortunately, my cabinets were not even ordered til November! On November 20, another check was written for $3000. (as per contract). When the cabinets were finally installed, some of them had to be cut because of improper measurements. I still have no countertop, backsplash, sink, faucet or molding. Cabinet handles are missing and electrical outlets need to be moved. We have called and texted continuously and finally received a response on 1/12/22 which was the day the original negative post on Angi's came out. Richard said he will get the work done but begged us to take down the negative review. We said we would take it down once the work was completed. As of today, STILL NOTHING!! FYI, our kitchen is only 144 square feet total with a small island. This is where we stand almost six months after this nightmare started. ON 3/04/22 Richard SAID IT WOULD TAKE 2 WEEKS TO FINISH project started on September 28th 202 NO ONE HAS BEEN HERE Angie's List has been NO HELP!

They did an excellent job, I don't have any issues, I would highly recommend them to other people. Everybody knows what they are doing, They did my 2 bathrooms and kitchen, They did a really fantastic job for me. They did the job according to what I wanted them to do. These guys are very down earth, I have a lot of things in my house and I need not be in there all the time, they are very trustworthy. I would say that they are the best.

Excellent service provided. Rishi and his team did an outstanding job. I had called many contractors to give me a quote and give me few ideas and explain how we will love forward in remodeling my bathroom and kitchen. Rishi's experience input made a huge difference to my home. My family love his input. He is very experience, honest and straigh forward person. Work was done within the time frame given. And his fast response an quote were amazing. Will definitely use Poconoc Restoration Service Inc again for for all my additional work.
