He took everything out and looks gorgeous his terrific I really like his work. With his very experience, he understands plants the landscaping very dedicated to his profession.

Our backyard was basically been a dirt pit for the six years that we ve lived in our house. We decided that we wanted to have our broken patio removed and replaced and we knew we wanted grass for our kids to play on during the pandemic. Friends told us to get quotes months in advance because they all had to wait for landscape companies to do the work. I started the process of emailing local Livermore businesses to get quotes on a Monday. Dan called me back within about 20 minutes and set up a time to come by the next morning. We reviewed what we wanted, which was quite outside of the typical homeowner here. We have a mid-century Eichler style house and wanted a patio design that reflected the period with veins of rock separating concrete slabs. Dan seemed slightly skeptical, but after showing him pictures he got onboard and completely embraced the design. He gave us a totally reasonable quote and indicated that he could start work the next day! We were shocked since we thought no one would be able to start for months. We decided to go with Dan s team without getting any other quotes (seems crazy, but we trusted him). His team was perfectly on time every day, worked unbelievably hard and fast and in just under two weeks our backyard is better than we ever dreamed it could be. In addition to the patio and grass, the team dug trenches to send all of our downspouts to the street ( we had no idea that was possible). They created a raised garden bed, removed a tree, planted 3 new trees and several ornamental vines and plants, leveled our side yard and installed a path and installed an entirely new automatic watering and sprinkler system. Although we chose drought tolerant grass, Dan was very clear about the importance of the right watering schedule and lawn care. Right after the project was done, we had a major heatwave and the grass survived with Dan s protocol and is now thriving with 12 min of water a day. Finally, Dan went on vacation and Charli, his supervisor took over and didn t miss a beat. We will be calling them again as soon as we save up for the front yard. I wish I could post pictures!

I hired Dan and his crew to pour stamped concrete in my backyard and artificial turf on my side yard. He also built a Bar B Q pit in my back your for my Big Green Egg grills. We hired him 2 weeks prior to closing on our house, he was punctual the whole time showing up early for our first meeting and being here at 6:45 am the morning of starting the project. Throughout the process I changed my mind a couple of times, he was understanding and helpful with us in making the right decision with price in mind. We don't have a large backyard but we have an awesome backyard thanks to Dan and Charlie.

Dan was very professional to work with. He was on time for appointments and respectful of our input at all phases. We had our back yard, courtyard and most of the front yard done in late February (there are still two areas in front that they will come back to complete after PG&E finishes some digging they are doing on our street). His knowledge of plants was very helpful in the selection process, and his prices were reasonable. The work his team did included sprinklers, drip system, lots of plants and some lighting. We look forward to having Generations come back and finish the project soon!

Dan Macedo was able to reverse engineer a patio under an existing pergola that looks like it was part of the original build, taking into account drainage and other issues. His attention to detail was outstanding, and he listens to homeowner's concerns and incorporates them into the project. Unlike many tradesmen I have encountered, he does not patronize women. He was able to overcome a few obstacles removing the impacted clay soil and found a work-around for difficult yard access. His crew left the yard in tidy shape. All in all a very good project and for a reasonable price. We are very satisfied.

Dan is always on time, does what he says, and in a timely fashion. He's very professional!

First, I would like to say that Generations Landscapz was wonderful to work with and they sure have the magic eye for details. What most impressed my family and I was their professionalism during the whole project from start to finish. I recommend contacting GL and ask to speak with Dan, what an awesome individual that truly has a passion for what for his work. All my neighbors were asking about who we used. They could not believe the finished project for the actual price I paid. We need more local and family business owners that’s for sure. I will be calling him back in mid January for additional work to be done. The only one I trust to work on my property. I recommend GL to everyone, trust me you will be very satisfied.

Before you consider this landscaper, read over some of the other negative reviews and read his responses to the reviews. You will see that he defends himself and the unhappy customer is never right. Yes, he has a lot of positive reviews and it seems that if you have a large job, he cares, if it is not.he does not care I had a very small area (approx. 350 sq. ft.) that needed grass. I asked him for a quote and he said that he would not lay the sod unless I paid him to put in sprinklers. (even though the area already had sprinklers that adequately watered the area. I am guessing he was trying to make a small job worth his time) I did not want the sprinklers, but, I was getting anxious to get the grass in, so that my daughter would have a place to play during the summer, so I agreed to have him do the job. His quote said they would remove the existing rock, till and grade the area, install (the unnecessary) sprinklers, and lay the sod. Dan said that since it was such a small job that he would have to wait until another job in my area needed sod so that he could use the left overs. When they finally came to lay the sod, it looked dry. The workers did everything very fast and they did not till or grade the area. After they were finished I noticed that it looked like there were a few different types of grass that were used (probably because he was using leftovers from a few different jobs) Within the first three days it started dying and turning yellow along the edges of each piece of sod. I let Dan know what was happening and he came to look at it. He told me not to waste any more water, let the whole thing die and he would replace it when he had another job in my area. Weeks went by and no contact from Dan. I called repeatedly and when I finally reached him, he told me to get the area ready, he would be out to relay the sod in two weeks. They day before he was supposed to come we prepped the area ourselves, tilling, grading, and laying down topsoil, since he did not do that the first time. The day he was scheduled to come he did not show up, no call, no text. Four more weeks went by, and after a number of unanswered calls and texts, I finally sent him an angry text questioning his professionalism. That finally got his attention and he responds saying that it was my fault that my grass died, (even though he used leftover, bad, dried out sod) that I must not have watered correctly, (even though his guys are the ones who set up my sprinkler timer for 10 min 2 a day) and said wrong time of year to do it, I am broke and have no other jobs to pay for it . It may not have been a big deal for him because it was not a big job for him, but it is to me and my family. They were right on top of it. They were always there bright and early and worked all day. It was better than I ever expected. It was beautiful.

I am very happy with the result of the landscaping project - a dry creek bed with plants and low-level lighting. Dan is very busy and was a challenge to get the project started. If you are patient, then you will be happy with the end result.

Dan and his crew did great work updating our backyard. We went from a disorganized and water-unfriendly backyard to a Zen-like hummingbird and butterfly garden. Dan is friendly, thoughtful, and very knowledgeable about plants and trees. He addressed all of our concerns and gave us practical advice as well as artistic ideas for the design. Generations Landscapz installed 4200 SQFT of new lawn in my front and back yards. They did a very professional job and were done in 3 days. The project included the inspection of the sprinkler system and setting up of the timer and water ing schedule. This contractor is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Dan Macedo and his crew just recently did concrete work on my patio project. Dan had to coordinate with other contractors during the rainiest season experienced in many years. I appreciated Dan communicating every phase of his involvement with not only me, but all the other contractors doing electrical and patio building. Dan and everyone on his crew were thorough, detailed orientated, punctual, and clean. The attention to detail of all aspects of the stamped and colored concrete was exceptional. In addition, Dan made several suggestions about how to enhance the new Alumawood patio cover and carport. One might be able to get a cheaper stamped concrete bid elsewhere, but I believe you get what you pay for. In my case, I have no regrets at all, and I would recommend him to do concrete work, landscaping design and implementation, along with overall hardscaping advice. Rob B.

Dan was amazing, great communication. His employees, Joe, Charlie and others are very neat and organized. They were willing to do anything to make me happy. Dan is very knowledgable about plants. He took me to the commercial nursery and did a great job helping me with picking my plants. Every time they left, everything was neatly organized and hidden so it still looked nice. I highly recommend them.

Generations Landscapz did a great job landscaping our yard. Dan and his two foremen, Charlie and Ruben, were professional, friendly and easy to work with. It was a fairly involved project as they had to grade the yard (on the sides of the house and backyard), put gas and electrical lines to the fire pit and to the pool equipment, build the fire pit, poor and stamp concrete (using 3 different release powders), including making diamond “cut” patterns in the concrete. They installed multi-zone irrigation lines, various types of lighting (low profile LED lights on top of the fence, tree up-lights, rope LED lights and regular garden “stick in the ground” lights). They stained the fence, installed the lawn, planted fruit trees and a variety of plants, used different soil coverings (bark and decorative rock), installed vertical (along the fence on the perimeter) and laid horizontal gopher wire mesh, and build a lattice fence with the gate around pool equipment. They also restored the front yard to its original state removing traces of tractor and other heavy equipment being dragged through it. It was a challenging project due to inter-dependencies with the pool building company, having to work in tight spaces and the fact that we are on the top of a hill with plenty of sun and wind, which makes it difficult for stamping concrete. But Generations Landscapz raised to the occasion and managed to overcome all of these challenges! I also appreciate Dan’s creativity and design changing suggestions along the way - these definitely had a positive impact onto our yard.

At first Dan was very professional, helpful and accommodating. However, he did not perform the job as detailed in his own bid. I reached out to him to try and communicate a resolution and he never returned my phone call or text messages. Very unexpected, especially since he holds himself to such a high standard.

Dan and team did an extremely good job on a backyard paver, fence, retaining wall project. They were very responsive both before and after the work started. Dan is a great resource and partner for your projects and the team under him was simply top-notch. Highly recommended.

We read reviews on HomeAdvisor, Inc and decided to try Generations Landscapz. We are so very happy that we did select this company. The owner, Dan Macedo, returned our call within a day and then came to Brentwood the following day to give us a bid. We were just going to begin with a mower strip and some plantings; however, we felt so comfortable with Dan, that we ended up having his company overhaul both our front and back yards. Dan's company created a beautiful planting area in the backyard surrounded by moss rock. They installed a three tier fountain, bench and bird bath that we had previously purchased. Dan also created two creek bed areas in the front yard. Dan guided us in our plant selections when we met him at the nursery. In addition, Dan's employees added low voltage lighting that truly enhances our landscape. Dan scheduled our project around a fencing project we were completing. Dan's employees were hardworking professionals. The employees began the project on time and worked daily until the project was completed. Any questions we had were handled immediately . Dan and his employees were very accommodating in that we kept having more things we wanted done. The results being a perfect oasis for us to appreciate.
