Punctual. The work was done fast but the results were visibly notable. My driveway and sidewalks looked almost brand new. They don’t fix cracks. My roof and fence look brand new. The neighbor commented that I got a new roof while he was gone. HA HA.

I thought he was a very nice man at first. You could tell that he was extremely busy because he seemed to be all over the place. At first he was hired from a groupon or living social deal to clean our tile floors. He was so nice that we explained that we were selling the house and needed to get the tile fixed. He recommended not to remove all the grout and re-grout because it would cost too much money for a house we are selling. He said that he could fill in the missing grout and re-color it all to match. Bottom line was that we paid him to do a job but when he messed up on scheduling, he tried to fit us between 2 other clients when we were told originally it would take a day. He never filled in the grout advising us that "filling in" meant adding color to the hole. The grout color was so messy that it was all over the actual tile. I have 3 cats and 2 dogs ans said to him that I needed to vacuum which he told me I didn't have to. I thought he was going to sweep up the animal hair. Instead, he did the color over the hair which than trapped the hair. He "Cleaned" the tile on the fireplace but missed a large scuff mark saying that he scrubbed the tile. I took a sponge and got it off with a little elbow grease.
My mistake was not getting anything in writing. He fought tooth and nail and became mean to us both. The only things that came out of his mouth have been lies. I can usually let things go as "lesson learned" but this made me so mad I filed complaints with the state and the BBB. I feel that everything might have been done properly if he did not mess up on our scheduling.
GET EVERYTHING IN DETAILED WRITING FROM HIM IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE HIM
He had forgotten the appointment and scrambled to get someone to do the job. He came himself two hours after the appointed time. The floors looked much better. The process was not what I was expecting. I've had the tiles steamed before, but this was a chemical and lots of water on the floor.
The owner Mike is very personable and an excellent salesman. However, PLEASE BE PRESENT AT YOUR HOME OR RENTAL to supervise, if you choose to hire his company for carpet cleaning and/or house cleaning. I have had two experiences with his company; one experience was good, and the other was very, very bad.
The first time we hired Mike, he and his pre-teen son did a good job cleaning our carpets? while we were home. When I called to hire him again to clean carpets in our rental town home, he offered a ?move-out? house cleaning as well, and he told me that we wouldn?t even have to be home for it! He suggested leaving him a key in the lockbox and he would take care of the rest. He quoted all the things that would be cleaned (including ceiling fans, insides of cupboards, refrigerator, etc). It sounded like a great idea, so we bought a lockbox and gave him the combination.
I have a complete folder with timelines, details and photos? but basically, the problems began when the cleaning person didn?t clean anything the first time she or he was at the house. When we called Mike, the excuses started. It wasn?t too bad at first: he said that "she" could not vacuum because while she was at the rental, the power company came out and shut off the power. Fair enough, we thought, but it wasn?t just the vacuuming that she didn?t do?why didn?t she clean anything else (that did not require electricity) and why did he collect payment when the house hadn?t been cleaned yet? But we allowed Mike to send her out again ?to clean the things she missed the first time? (which in our opinion was everything--- see the ?after the first cleaning? pictures).
We also noticed that the Closetmaid closet components had been partially dismantled, and that a few of the wire cubes were missing. I let Mike know that we did not need reimbursement, but that we wanted him to know. His excuse this time was that the cleaning person thought the items were trash, and threw them away. (However the minimal trash that had been left in the house?a few old cheeto bags and such-- had not been thrown away, and the cubes were not in the trash bin outside. Sigh.)
The next day we came to a house that was a lot better. It wasn?t great, but it looked like the cleaning person attempted to clean this time. We paid Mike for the carpet cleaning portion, just to be done with it, but we knew at that point that we would never hire him again.
The weekend came and when we arrived at the house to clear the backyard of yard trash, we discovered more missing items that we hadn?t noticed earlier. These weren?t big things: a new box of garbage bags was missing from the kitchen counter; a new $35 bottle of weed killer and a $7 bottle of fuel for the weed whacker were missing off the locked back porch. We couldn?t get started working until we had these items, so on the way to Home Depot I gave another courteous call to Mike to let him know. (As a small- business owner myself, I would want to know if there was anything missing from my customers on my watch.) This is when everything unraveled.
Mike launched in to a high-pitched rant about how much time his company spent at my house the first time, and how I apparently could not be satisfied. He told me that my version of clean was different from others and that I was being completely unreasonable with my expectations. He went on to say that the house was in a bad neighborhood and ?why don?t you ask whoever was smoking on your back porch with all those cigarette butts who stole your stuff,? and on and on. It was out of nowhere. I couldn?t get a word in edgewise, and so I sat there with my jaw open as he berated me for a few minutes. When he was finished, he hung up on me.
Maybe he had a bad day. Maybe it was a stressful time for him. In any event, you can probably avoid all this pain and berating, if you are simply there to supervise anyone he sends out to clean your house.
Response from 4 Sons Restoration
"appreciate the positive feedback on the carpets, cleaning part the cleaning person never finshed the first time due to the fact of the power being shut off, you may not think its a big deal but right there the job can not be completed, so my part of being a business owner was to change a schedule have her go and clean another customer and have her go back when she can finish the job correctly, and which was done, we work for a lot of property management companys etc, also residential customer have no problem with the cleaners in there home when there not there as a matter of fact the cleaner that completed this job cleans my office and private home .I was very patient with this customer till the personnel attack game when I was called a liar and outright acused of stealing. I inspect every job before we start and after my company has won the 2014 home advisor service award. and we go above and beyond to make our customers happy, but in this case you can not please everyone."
