5280 Exteriors

5280 was really easy to work with! They were responsive, timely and efficient. I really appreciated that I did not feel any sales pressure from them and they allowed me to take my time and make the best decision for me. Best of all my windows look great!

5280 did an excellent job from beginning to end. Everyone from the sales rep to the siding and gutter replacement crew exhibited professional competence and dedication to completing the project as per the contracted agreement. Every need/concern that arose along the way was immediately addressed and resolved. The end result met all our expectations and we are thoroughly satisfied with the beautiful results. We would totally recommend 5280 to anyone considering residing their home.

<p>I contacted 5280 Exteriors in May of 2013 for a project to be done in the summer of 2014. It turns out that they subcontract out all of the work performed. The only thing that 5280 Exteriors did was coordinate the jobs done. They failed miserably at this. The windows were installed in August of 2014 with the siding and installation done in October of 2014 the job was not completed until November 22, 2014. This had many potential problems because the jobsite is in the mountains off of a non maintained road...snowy weather is a big issue for access.</p> <p>Window installation</p> <p>General opinion: Sloppy</p> <p>Guys showed up pretty much unannounced. Folks at 5280 Exteriors have dropped the ball on customer communication no one told me they were coming to start the job. When talking to Mick and Bryce about the window install I got the feeling that they had never done it before. I ordered the windows with nail fins...they wanted to remove the nail fins to center the window in the opening. This would have placed the window weep ports to discharge on top or behind the siding. Not the way the windows were designed to be installed. The windows were installed with the nail fins as intended. They were also unaware of how to tape the exterior with sheathing of Celotex I provided adhesive to do this.</p> <p>Two guys did the window installation. They were very fast with little attention to detail. Windows were placed in the wrong locations and remain there. Only one window was of concern to me so I pointed it out to the installer prior to its' installation. It was the one tempered window that needed to be in the dining room near a door. It ended up in the living room. Each window was labeled as to which room it belonged. </p> <p>While cutting back the siding for the nail fins, they cut all the way through the siding and the sheathing all the way to the insulation. </p> <p>The rough opening of the windows were not flashed. The window was set in the opening directly on a wood 2 X 4 without any shims. This prevented any insulation on the bottom of the window. The side and top nail fins were installed without any sealant or caulk.</p> <p> </p> <p>On the interior sealing of the windows foam was applied to the gaps on the sides of the windows. On the top gap some had fiberglass stuffed in the gap with 1/3 of the windows not done at all or poorly done. No seal at all on the bottom of any window. Outside the windows were not sealed at all with tape.</p> <p>The windows came with capillary tubes connected to Mylar balloons. The tubes were to be crimped and the balloons removed after an acclimation period. This was not done.</p> <p>Interior items were covered to collect debris during construction, but the covers were removed before the job was done so crap was all over the house. On the second day I covered my furniture with sheets, those too were moved before the job was done. They vacuumed some of the debris, but much of it remained. Including large pieces of insulation, dirt, and Celotex.</p> <p>When Mick from 5280 Exteriors showed up after the window install, he agreed the job was and quot;sloppyand quot; and he added and quot;an embarrassmentand quot;. I was surprised that nothing was offered to compensate me for the poor work. I was presented with the full bill.</p> <p>Insulation</p> <p>This was to be coordinated with the siding crew to allow insulation to be blown in from the gable ends at each end of the house. The insulation crew showed up, but not the siding crew. Coordination was a failure but the insulation guys proceeded and did a good job.</p> <p>Siding installation</p> <p>The siding was cut back to install the windows (nail fins). The house was left this way for 2 months before the siding was installed. I had given 5280 Exteriors more than a year to schedule this project. The siding was pushed to the fall when I asked for it to be done during the summer. The day the siding was to begin, no crew showed. They came the next day. No one on the crew spoke English and the details about sealing the windows (that the windows guy did not do) were not conveyed to the siding guys. So we had a challenge trying to communicate what I wanted done.</p> <p>The house wrap was installed with the seams taped on one side of the house only.</p> <p>For the most part the crew did a good job with the siding. 3 sides of the house the siding looks excellent, the 4th side appears to not be so well planned. The shingles used on the gable ends start at different heights so the lap siding on the 4th side appears to not be level with the windows or the bottom of the siding...a tapered piece of siding was used on the bottom.</p> <p>The crew removed exterior lights, outlet covers, etc. Parts were lost and lights were replaced but not wired correctly. Due to the width of the siding, the outlets had no covers and were no longer easily accessible if a problem occurs.</p>

They had a project manager come by, early on to verify the scope of the work & confirm the materials needed. He committed to a start date and described the duration of work expected. Materials arrived two(2) days before the project start. On the target day, the workmen arrived and started the project. Things went as expected.. and the work progressed.  Completed the job over three next three (3) days and cleaned up the work area.  Very happy overall with the professionalism and execution of the project.

It was fantastic. The paint crew was on site by 7:00 and through with the complete job, including walk-through, by 3:15. Included power wash of house, priming where needed, and repairing some woodpecker holes in the siding. Other companies have taken 2 - 3 days to paint smaller homes in the subdivision using smaller crews. <br /> <br /> One thing I noticed that the painting crew was an extremely happy crew, and worked very well together.

WOW!!! <br /> Bryce and his team were extremely professional, courteous, and did an exceptional job on my home.  I couldn't have asked for a better outcome. They were in constant communication, without my prompting.  I knew when the job would start, when the dumpster would arrive, when the supplies would be delivered, and what to expect at all times.  I was never in the dark, or left to wonder.  The craftsmanship, <br /> <br /> Bryce and Stephanie worked diligently with my insurance company to make ends meet financially and still indemnify and rectify the damages.   <br /> <br /> I struggle with colors and trims and am a visual person.  Bryce was incredibly patient showing me examples of what the colors & trim it would look like, as well as driving through the neighborhood to point out homes that had a similar look.   He definitely went above and beyond my expectations.  I could look at my home all day.  It's so beautiful. <br /> <br /> <br /> A big 'Thank you' to 5280 Exteriors.  I will definitely use them for all my home improvement needs. <br />

5280 was very responsive and provided a fast and competitive quote, as well as references I could call.  They always arrived on schedule or let me know if things were changing. <br>Our assigned project manager was great, and responded quickly to emails and calls, and helped determine the right options and paint. <br>They were very flexible in scheduling, and didn't pressure me when I wanted to wait until warm weather to start the job. <br>When Denver experienced so much rain this spring and summer, their scheduled changed a few times as other jobs got behind, but they were very communicative with the changes. <br>The workers did a very detailed and careful job and cleaned up well. <br>Overall, a really good experience! <br>

They were supposed to leave paint, but they didn’t.  They did a really good job.  They were prompt.  They were very clean.

They did a great job. I would use them again.  Really nice guys to talk to and work with. The house looks great. <br />

The process was great from start to finish. Their sales guy was very helpful and knowledgeable about the product. He created a friendly environment for us in which we did not feel pressured to make a decision. The production guys were great as well. They were very nicely dressed and friendly. They seemed very intent on giving me exactly what I wanted. I was very impressed with the quality of the product as well as the customer service!
