Vinyl or Linoleum Sheet Flooring or Tiles Installation
After completing my dance floor, 5 Star Construction installed 2 doors an inside and an outside door. As expected, they did a 5 star job. They provided all materials and adjusted a bolt that was giving me trouble. Their goal is to provide the best product and service available. They can't be beat.

Wood Flooring - Install or Completely Replace
The installation was great and the foreman Gary, was very nice. That's the only good thing I can say. I was pressured into signing the contract against my better judgement to get 3 estimates. I thought the price was high. Chris did not bring samples and said the stain was my responsibility and cost. I was told to get a poly to match which Sherwin Williams did not know about. Home Depot said they had "polyshade" but not recommended for floors and only sold in quarts. I was told to get the polyshade and then poly would be applied over that. The guy at Home Depot would not even let me buy the product because it's not used for flooring. He explained how the stain and poly are applied. That's when I knew this company did not know what they were doing. Needless to say the floors are so botched up I am going to have to hire a professional flooring company to redo it. They only used 1/2 gallon of poly. You can see they did not apply poly on the edges or under appliances. The stain job is blotchy and you can see the brush strokes and the many places where it is a totally different color. Chris is a smoothe talker and talks from 2 sides of his mouth. He is trying to build an empire And the result is that his guys are rushed through one job to go to the next. Therefore, the work was substandard and incomplete.I did not want to pay the half that I owed him when they said it was done until I did a walk through. Chris insisted I pay. He tells you what you want to hear so he can get his money and go to the next job. I am done with Chris. He says he will fix it but I don't trust him or his company's ability to do workmanship standards or to complete the project. I should have only paid for the install And materials. I don't even think they did an adequate job on sanding. I definitely should not pay for the staining and poly application. Thank goodness I was able to stop payment on my last check. Chris wanted me to go to bank and get a cashiers check because the floors were too wet to walk on and I could not get my checkbook. Instead I ordered new checks and gave them a temporary check. I would have been so screwed if I had not been able to stop payment and retrieve my money for the remaining balance. At least I can use that money to get it fixed. Now I have to go through all the inconvenience again.

Vinyl or Linoleum Sheet Flooring or Tiles Installation
Like most people I use reviews to help me determine who I'm going hire for our jobs/projects. After talking to the salesman/owner of 5 Star and because I needed our floor underlayment repaired as well as new flooring layed I believed they could do the job so I chose them. And after learning they could do a lot around the house and I had so many projects I considered them for 2 more projects and signed a contract. The price of the second contract kept bothering me so after my husband got home and we talked I called Chris THE VERY NEXT DAY and cancelled the contract for the other 2 projects. The price for the projects were just too expensive. We figured the one project to cost us $220.00 a sq.ft. which was just too much. The flooring job that we really needed done also cost us 3 X more than the product itself did and we furnished it. The flooring job was set up for the following Monday, I emptied my kitchen and utility room and was ready for the workman to show up but no one camedâ¦so I called Chris and asked where they wereâ¦I came away from that phone conversation thinking that I had fallen through the cracks and I wondered if it had anything to do with cancelling the other work. The workman did show up the next day. They had to look at the job, didn't know it was 2 rooms then had to leave again to get materials like plywood and leveler mix. Granted all of this might not happened to anyone else but me BUT all I can say is BEWARE of who you hire, and be sure to get more than 2 bides and keep forcused on your job it always belongs to you plus stay on top of everything and everyone you hire.

I would like to add that we did a lot of work to your existing floor to bring it into tolerance before your installation began. I know that all projects don't go as planned but in the end your floor looks amazing - you did a great job with product selection. I also understand that you felt "fit in" - When customers decide to use My company for a project I try to make sure your experience with us is as "smooth as possible". I would also like to add that my crews can only receive 1 project at a time - in order to provide you with the best experience - I will not let my crews have more than 1 project - that means if the job they are working on before "yours" doesn't complete, they cannot take another project until the previous project complete - unfortunately this happened to you and WE are sorry for that! I would rather not go into a pricing scenario - but if we had charged you $220 per sq ft your floor contract would have been over 25k. The pricing that we agreed upon included more than just a "floor installation" I know here at 5 Star Construction we always put our customer's first - we do everything we can for our customers to have the best experience possible during construction. I also know that every time we do a project things aren't perfect - I believe we are here to help, answer our phones, and provide you with the best customer experience possible. WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR BUSINESS AND WOULD LOVE TO HELP YOU WITH ANOTHER PROJECT IN THE FUTURE."

Doors (Exterior) - Install or Replace
I had two bids and they were about the same in cost for a custom cut door, so I asked both companies to tell me how soon they thought they could get the job done and the quickest. would get the job The 5 Star sales person told me he could get the door and have the job done in 2 weeks, but it took 4 weeks to get the door which was the original timeline for both companies. I can't help but think "I'll get the door and job done in 2 weeks" was a line just to get me to place my order. But all said and done it is nice door and it is functioning properly....

We measured and verified your door immediately after we confirmed your paperwork. I was given a lead time by the manufacturer and for some reason they didn't fulfill the timeline they forwarded to me. I would also like to add that your door was custom cut to 72" in height - not a typical door. All in all your door went in smoothly and everything looks great!
