This was a tub shower conversion in a small master bath. There was no change to 5 x9 footprint. It was tile, paint, baseboards, pocket door, relocating an outlet and converting the tub to shower using existing drain location. No sink, no vanity, no lighting electrical. I provided all tile, doors, pocket door frame & hardware, shower valve, trim & arm with shower head. In April I was told $4920.00. Some weeks later I was ready to go forward. I was told the person who came out before was no longer with the company and the new quote was $6027.00. This should have been my first clue I was not dealing with a fair or professional company. I was told 15 calendar days (it took over 35 days!). I was ready to get it done, so I agreed to the new quote. No protective plastic, no preparations other than canvas on floor during demo. They had opened a closet door during demo, so inside the closet were covered in dust. There was no protection the rest of the 35 days of work. They did not prep the area or use anything to protect the bedroom. There was nothing to mitigate the amount of dust that covered my master bedroom. Ridiculous! All they had to do is tell me that they weren't going to do anything and I could have done it myself! I was told they would protect, as part of the job but it was not done. Very unprofessional for a contractor. I had to sleep on my sofa for over a month. Much of the work had to be done a 2nd time. Floor tile around toilet, unable to unlock pocket door, gaps in tile and missing grout in areas. Shower door had chip, but installed anyway and had to be redone. Shower arm tile cuts not hidden by flange, asked for a 3 flange rather than redoing tile. Baseboards not installed properly so schluter had to be pieced into the gap between baseboard and tile. Had painting included in job, big mistake. I have done and would have done better myself. It had to be done a second time, Including the texture that was very sloppy and unprofessional. I am having to re-paint the ceiling and I curse this company with every stroke of the brush. This is the type of workmanship you get when you pick up at guy in the Home Depot parking lot & stick a paintbrush in their hand & call them a painter! As the job dragged on the work became visible more DIY. The shower valve was set to 95 degrees took three days to get plumber out to fix, for two days he was a no show. They left the carpet in the doorway loose, had to ask them to glue it down. The bill was $6000.00. When I accepted the contract, it said 15 calendar days. This company buys and sells properties, so they work with real estate contracts. You would think they knew what a calendar day is! I Thought it would be great to have a new shower in 2 weeks and be done. Ha! Jokes on me! I told them I was taking off the first 11 calendar days of the 15 Calendar days I was quoted. Some days nobody showed, other days I would get a text asking if workers could come by and they would no-show. All I got was â sorry! Wasting my time waiting when no workers show up is rude and inconsiderate. This company has no concern for what they put the homeowner through. More than 30 days later (8/15-9/18) and redo after redo the job is done. It cost me far more than it was worth. Be aware, they have no guaranteed completion clause, so don't expect any consideration for the overage or the sloppy work. I asked and they refused. Rather than deal with them one moment longer, I paid my bill and chalk it up to, expensive lesson learned. I would not recommend this company to anyone, ever!
