We've been a client of 5 Star for many years and have valued their high quality work on every project. From smaller jobs like replacing exterior window trim, to larger jobs like reinforcing/renovating a balcony and most recently renovating a bathroom, Craig and team do great work. As important, they are excellent communicators, proactively keeping us informed of timelines and next steps (which they consistently adhere to), and are very fair cost-wise.

The owner is very kind, understanding. He knows construction very well and he has very high standards He sent his team back to address some areas that my wife and I didn’t even notice. I highly recommend 5 Star Quality Construction.

Working with my General Contractor, Craig Mingle, owner of 5 Star Quality Construction was smooth. He was prompt with responses to text communications. He also made direct contact with my Architectural Engineer about details on the county required drawings for the permitting of my Gable Roof Ends Wood Siding (T1-11) replacement project. Craig is knowledgeable, personable, attentive, detailed and a man of his word. A job done right the first time with the right crew makes all the differance. I’ve hired Craig a few times for a new roof, for a tub removal/walk-in shower installation and some vinyl siding work at my home. Very professional. Jobs done on time and done correctly. The subcontractors are quality people including Jim who recently put in the shower. Craig was even able to help at our business when some painting needed done. Craig and his crew did a great job. They were all friendly and knew what they were doing. Added a ceiling fan/light and it was installed looks and works great. We are very pleased with the estimate and work. My wife has other projects and we will call Craig when ready to begin.

It was a pleasure working with 5 Star Quality Construction Inc and they truly live up to their name 5 Star Quality. After purchasing a new property in Hillsborough County; i needed some finish carpentry work completed. Craig, with 5 Star; promptly bid the job out and placed me on their schedule to have work commence. I needed crown molding’s installed throughout the first floor, in addition to some cabinet crown moldings installed. 5 Star was able to complete the job up to my standards in a timely matter. I would recommend them to any property owner and wouldn’t hesitate to hire them again.

My garage ceiling was comng down. Craig come over, looking at ceiling, gave me a quote and immediately had its crew working on the job. The crew finished the job, and cleaned up. I was happy with the job. I will use 5 Star Construction again.

Breifly, I purchased a home in March 2023 that was “upgraded” and meticulously maintained with an inadequate evaluation on inspection that lead to electrical, plumbing, and cosmetic issues shortly after closing. It was learned permits were not obtained and unlicensed individuals performed repairs/upgrades on the property that resulted in several code violations and requirement to remedy the issues that involved demolition of the entire kitchen (including drywall, concrete, plumbing, electrical, etc). Craig and his team communicated effectively, provided accurate timeline, and performed an outstanding renovation while ensuring permits were obtained followed by county inspections. I highly recommend 5 star quality construction and plan to use Craig and his team for future projects!

5 Star Quality was amazing! Not only was the President and General Contractor, Craig Pringle, highly knowledgeable and professional, but he assisted me in working closely with a structural engineering company and their design plan for the repair. He was readily available to answer all questions and concerns on several occasions. And he was enthusiastic about sharing his wealth of experience and expertise in the construction industry which made a big difference in the successful completion of the repair and receiving approval from a county inspector. His carpentry team arrived on time and went out of their way to clean up any debris left over. Their craftsmanship was entirely what I hoped for. Given the extent of time and coordinating this repair entailed, including an electrician, another member of their team, and an A/C technician, 5 Star came thru when I needed it most. I have used their services for multiple home repairs and will do so again in the future!

I have been very pleased with the work. I first used 5 Star to repair structural water and termite damage and was so pleased with the work that I later hired them to remodel 2 bathrooms. Both were done exactly as I asked and without any trouble. The estimates for all 3 projects were accurate and I would not hesitate to recommend 5 Star to anyone looking for a quality company for their home repair/remodel.

I was very impressed by this company's willingness to carry out a number of related tasks along with the main task of chimney repair. I needed wood replaced and new siding added to my chimney, but I also wanted large cracks in my laundry shed caulked and wood replaced around it and a crack caulked at the house's foundation. Owner Craig Mingle had helpful advice about the best way to repair and seal these places; we discussed some additional work that was beyond my budget at this time, and Craig was willing to set that aside and carry out just the main tasks that I could afford. The work was carried out on schedule by Jerry and Larry, who were polite and professional as well as skillful and careful to clean up when finished. Craig also arranged for a painter to patch holes in and paint a bedroom ceiling. I am very happy with the work that was done and with Craig's willingness to tailor jobs to owners' needs and budgets.

We hired this company to help finish remodeling our house. Craig came to the house initially only one time and understood we only had a month before we had to move. He ordered our doors and trim then invoiced us and after we gave him our credit card he charged the card for more than the amount the invoice was for. The doors and trim were delivered and the trim was not the profile we ordered and several of the doors were the wrong hand. He refused to take the blame, even though the list his employee made was correct, and said my husband never told him what kind of trim to order (he has a text where he did) and that it would be weeks to get more doors. My husband found the doors in stock at the same supplier that Craig used and had them delivered within a week then had to rent a truck to go pick up the correct trim so we could get it finished before we had to move in. Craig refused to pick up the incorrectly ordered trim and doors and it's still sitting in our garage. I've had to file a dispute with my credit card company because he refused to refund the unauthorized amount that he charged and we had to pay someone else to install the doors and trim. His worker felt so bad, because he knew we had to finish, that he offered to work on the side to help us finish the trim and Craig found out and took money from him. He took our money, ordered the wrong items and left them in our garage, furnished no labor, which we paid him for, and he never came back to our house after we paid him. I hope this review will keep someone else from getting ripped off by this company.

I'm a do it your self type on remodeling over the years, guest bathroom, kitchen, fireplace and more. When it came time to remodel my large master bath i decided to hire a contractor for the first time ever. 5 Star came in with the best bid which include items others had missed. Craig was on site almost daily and provided me constant scheduling updates as things progress. He has some great folks working with him, impressive with many of the skillsets, and now I have the entire neighborhood touring through my house looking at the finished product! As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words

The contractor and his subs failed to read the instructions on installing vinyl flooring. It cannot be installed over hardwood. This cost me an additional $5000 to get a new contractor to redo the work. This caused me many hours of disruption and delays. The contractor was rude and would not take responsibility for such.

Fascia and soffit repair/replacement

5 Star Construction remodeled our kitchen, raised our kitchen ceiling and stripped and retextured our dining area. They were punctual, professional and a special shout out to Jerry who made the cabinets fit the built in appliances! Great job and I now have a cabinet that functions as a pantry. They were very creative!

I first met 5 Star after my husband passed away and I needed a handyman I could trust to do quality work. I met with several people and settled on 5-Star to do the work. I have been using them ever since. Many of the jobs I had asked them to do were small, but when I wanted to remodel my kitchen, i trusted them to tell me if I needed a larger construction company to do that work. They did it themselves and did SUCH great work, that I was even more impressed they had been kindly and willingly doing those smaller jobs without complaint. These guys are absolutely the best and professional all the way. Trust me when I say they can do any remodeling work - ANY! Their prices were more than fair and all the men working for them are of the highest integrity.

The company went above and beyond to help me find the window company that made the windows to find out that there was a recall. My window frames were fixed with no cost and it's all thanks to Five Star Quality Construction's help.

I am still in the middle of this job, but am so impressed so far I wanted to give a great review. Craig has been amazing, answering my many questions. His workers have done excellent work so far and have been extremely accommodating to all my requests and all with smiles on their faces. I highly recommend this company!

Highest praise for this roofing company. They were easy to work with, responded promptly, left the site in great condition and were easy to communicate with. They went far above our expectations and we would not hesitate to refer friends and family to this company should the need arise.
