I had big damage at home due to a water leak while I was away on vacations. After water and mold remediation was done, I contacted 911 Construction as per one of their sister companyâ s recommendations and given their online reviews. Top-notch service in the beginning, highly responsive. The project manager came home and evaluated the damage and what needed to be done (basically rebuild part of the ceiling, walls, floor, paint, baseboards, etc.). He said it would take about 3 days to get it done. I signed the contract and paid a required 50% upfront. The first week went well but, after that, the nightmare began. Long story short, those 3 days became almost 3 months! In the meantime, of course, the damaged areas could not be used, so this significantly limited my day-to-day activities. I understand that projects get delayed due to many factors and Iâ m fine with that, if itâ s within reason and Iâ m informed. What I donâ t accept is a completely lack of responsiveness. It was basically impossible to contact my project manager â ¦ I called him countless times, sent tons of text messages, etc.. and after many days, heâ d get back to me just to apologize and give another false promise. This situation went on for weeks. They would send one person to work in my house for a few hours, then they would leave me on the blind â ¦ over, and over again. VERY frustrating! In addition, there were delays with the paperwork that they needed to provide to my insurance company. I ended up calling their offices several times to escalate and talked to different people. They were somehow helpful, and things got moving after doing that (many times), but that lasted for a few days and then I needed to do it again. Its incredibly frustrating to deal with a company that simply does not even respond to phone calls. Whenever I looked at the progress and, even at the final stage, I would see countless imperfections that needed to be corrected, while they were pushing me to sign the final release agreement. The owner came by my house after I requested to talk to him in many occasions. I met with him, very nice guy. He helped get the job done but this only happened after months of complaints and headaches. He did point out that the project manager assigned to me was laid off. When the project was done, they were very fast at reaching out to me to collect the remaining 50%. I told them I was still dealing with the insurance. The week after, they contacted me again to â remindâ me that If I didnâ t pay, they would send me to collections. I wish they had been that fast on following up when I needed them. I might be the outlier here as I see this company mostly has good reviews, so my only advise if youâ re planning to work with them, is to have them commit to a timeline and have a contact person who truly cares. Have them have a supervisor manage your project.
