A1 Carpet Repair

Would not recommend this vendor. Carpet looked horrible when done and scheduling was a nightmare.

The owner of A1 Carpet repair, Mr. James Scoggins, and his helper arrived 10 minutes ahead of the scheduled time - a true phenomena for repair technicians! Then they got straight to work, and finished up in 2.5 hours repairing over 20 spots throughout the house at the corners of doors and closets and on the steps where our cats had clawed the carpets over the years. The work was excellent and professional and the cost was exactly what they quoted over the phone with no surprises. Mr. Scoggins and his helper were very polite and friendly and willingly explained the repair process and answered all our questions about subsequent care for the repaired areas. We are very happy with their service and the results. We highly recommend their services.

Carpet Stretcher Individual (Mike) was excellent and committed to delivering a quality product. Carpet Cleaner individual (William) was not committed to delivering a good product and therefore delivered the minimum he could. *** Would rehire Stretcher; not carpet cleaner.

The contractor was about 4 hours late showing up--had traffic problems, and then could not find our place. I had offered to give him directions but he declined claiming he could use his GPS. I had also told him I needed him to be on time because I had some furniture arriving. The furniture arrived before he did. He did a good job stretching our living room carpet and then insisted he needed to clean the hall carpet before stretching, as it was stiff. He got out his carpet cleaner (which only uses hot water, not a modern steam cleaner kind); and when he tried to turn it on, it was broken. And so he left me with a puddle of water in the carpet, and the rest of the home unstretched. I think he wanted to do a good job, but I would not hire him again. I hope he can be more professional with future clients.

Not what I expected.

The technician did quality work in a careful manner.

Didn't finish project. Told me my check was declined which it was not. Said they would come back on Sunday or Monday to finish and did not. Said that my king bed was a problem and I would have to pay them $100.00 more dollars to do the master bedroom. The carpet in the hallway has now buckled again. They did clean the carpets though. Played telephone tag with them back and forth for days.

They were so rushed that they clearly didn't care to do a good job. There were areas where solution was put down in a strip and not removed. Also, they charged more than the quoted price.

Original appointment was canceled at 5PM the day before and then the arrival was 1 Hr. earlier without notice. Non-professional. My first name used and then "sweetheart" most of the time. Technician appeared rushed- 45 minutes for living room, dining room, bedroom, and walk-in closet. I had removed most of furnishings to give clear space. Result was unsatisfactory.
