A 1 Ceramics

Fred and his wife Frankie are very nice but, they did started the job on time, took longer than estimated, did not give us enough information to make good decision on one portion of job and due to that, it does not look very good, seldom arrived on the day let alone the time promised, sadly had to play hardball to get the job finished. A pile of old tile pieces and old mortor was left in the front yard that I had to clean up. Very pleased with the quality of work, but dissappointed with the communication and timeliness.

Sent crew to do the job after said he would do it himself. Some problems noticed after payment - they never came back to correct - had to do myself after they got paid - but the job looks good and they did a lot of heavy work to get to 99% complete.

So far so good. The job is not completed yet. Will be completed soon. I will update this rating when job is completed.

Workers were not timely and never showed up on time. Alternatively, they did work late hours to get the job done. Quality of work is excellent. Flooring beautiful. Feel that communication could have been better, such as informing me that they were going to be late. Job took several days to complete and was inconvenient but made even more so by their untimeliness. Nevertheless, I would use them again in the future. Very nice people.

They were very expeditious and had high quality work. A portion of my home was damaged during installation, however, but they did some extra work to basically make up for it. Overall a great job!

Initially, the worked looked decent, even though I was never entirely happy with the grout work (they did a sloppy grout job). The contractor assured me they would come in and fix this, but they never did. A few weeks later, the grout started to crack. I contacted the contractor on several occasions, but they never came to fix the defective work -- always had an excuse. After a few attempts, they just stopped returning my calls. Obviously, they don't care and don't plan to do rectify the situation (big mistake to ignore repeated customer calls). I wouldn't hire these guys again, or recommend them to anyone. Not worth the hassle.

A-1 is an apt name for these professionals! Courteous, highly skilled, and their knowledge of both their craft and the homeowner's expectations is excellent. Not the cheapest, but worth every penny!

Fred is outstanding in his craft of tile and stone. Fred is courteous and polite. Fred is honest and creative. However, there are severe business management concerns with Frankie. Be very cautious of any advanced payments for materials or service. My advance payment was not used to purchase the agreed upon materials. I provide all materials for the first phase of my project. The advanced payment at the beginning of my projects was to pay for materials for the second phase of my project. Then Frankie had the audacity to request a second advanced payment for materials to complete the second phase of my project. A-1 did refund the deposit for the additional project.

We had a very bad experience with this company and all the companys you have reffered my to. I had to call the professioanl serval diffrent time the tile look half done. They left the trash all over my carport. The grout was the wrong color. The tile looked so so.*** removed door grout didn't match 39ft of trash the finish projet was a 21/2 star rating

I had trouble contacting them since they are not listed in phone book. Work was done quickly, which was nice - even after last minute changes. Never received an invoice like I was told I would.

I cannot say enough for A1 Ceramics. I had a really difficult job of tearing up a patio and replacing a very large area with field stone. The difficult part was that it all had to be done by hand without any heavy equipment, which meant everything was hauled in and out with a wheel barrel. I cannot say enough for Fred Ludwig and his crew and I would recommend them to anyone and certainly would have them back for future projects in my home. I appreciated the care and concern Fred took to talk with us as the project progressed. The workmanship is very good, and the workers were courteous. I would definitely recommend A1 Ceramics to a friend. Also, as is customary, we had to hire another contractor to re-install our shower door. Both contractors provided identical quotes and were punctual and professional.

From all the contractors we talked to, we liked Frankie's design best. He gave us the best rate and shortest estimated project duration. His team was very efficient and finished on time and within budget. During the project we had concerns that Frankie immediately addressed without any problems.

I know I was taking a chance by selecting my tile installer, sight unseen, over the Internet (Service Magic). I was very satisfied. A-1 Ceramics installed tile in my kitchen and two baths. From the selection process, installation, and clean-up they performed in a professional manner. I would and will recommend them to any one needing excellent tile installation.

We are extremely pleased with the results received from A 1 Ceramics. Our walkway is outstanding! We highly recommend A 1 Ceramics to everyone.

A-1 subs the job out but followed up and did a good job. This is a commercial facility not a home and we require professionals.

Fred and his team were wonderful. I had recently had a "bad experience" and not only did A1 Ceramics do an excellent job they did some "hand-holding" to help me make some decisions on my project. I couldn't be more pleased with the service, the price, and the end result. My flagstone walkways are beautiful!

Extremely fast workmanship. Would recommend.
