The contractor has not fulfilled his word in emailing me the invoice and pictures. he is not returning calls at all.

Broke the cardinal rule w/contractors by paying them before work was complete - NEVER AGAIN! But they had so MANY smooth lines - they began by asking for a positive review for Home Advisor. They were the first to respond to the Home Advisor quote request & the first to visit. Knowledgeable & polite, they freely compliment customers. Did most of the job then kindly asked for payment since only a little work remained, though they initially said they'd finish everything in one day. (Originally they said they would not ask for payment til done.) Said they had an out-of-town project the next day & their subcontractor would finish the last 2hrs of work then while they were out. The work has never been finished!! Communicated w/them daily, on average, the next 2 weeks. Their voice mailbox stayed full the entire 2 weeks; fortunately they text. Over and over they said they would be here the next day but never showed. They apologized and offered $200 for the inconvenience. Long before writing this review I told them I would contact Home Advisor, the BBB (Better Business Bureau), & my attorney, thinking they would surely come out or, at least call & or text me but... nothing! Crickets! As polite as they were when starting, it is difficult to know if they are deliberately manipulative or simply young & careless about their reputation - either way I'm left w/an unfinished job. What is promising a $200 refund worth if they never show?!? What is a (very unusual!) 7-year warranty worth if they NEVER SHOW?!? Again, no matter what story they give nor how polite, NEVER PAY BEFORE THE WORK IS COMPLETE.

He showed up quickly eager to get the job done. We agreed on a reasonable price, terms of payment and the scope of work to be done. He scheduled the work to be done immediately....That was almost 3 weeks ago. I have not seen him. No work was done. He wont return calls.
