Use caution and insist on a written quote before any work begins. I contacted AB Garage Door on a Sunday for a broken garage door spring. The technician arrived quickly, said the springs needed replacement, recommended new rollers, and quoted $375. Based on that conversation, I approved the repair. After the work was completed, I was emailed an invoice for over $4,600. I was told the $375 was labor only, each spring was approximately $1,500, and each roller was nearly $125. None of these prices were provided to me in writing before the work was performed. After I disputed the charges, the invoice was reduced multiple times, first to around $3,200 and ultimately to just under $900, which we paid to resolve the matter. My concern is not the repair itself, but the lack of pricing transparency. If you use this company, get a detailed written estimate for all labor, materials, warranties, and upgrades before authorizing any work.

Very happy with our new doors. There were a couple of small things they came back and took care of them.

Call him for a springs replacement. Try to charge me 400 per spring that cost in Home Depot 30 for a pair. Be aware!!! No real office, no real company. Came with a pickup truck and broken English.

Sales Rep/Technician was a very hard sell. His English was only fair and that complicated things. Buy, Buy, Buy. He wasn't about to let me go. I hired him even though his prices seemed a bit high, but I needed to garage my car before the winter storm hits later this week. The work was performed very quickly, but the 'package' of the door opener was stripped down when it came to accessories. We only got one remote and of course, the wall switch. We only received an electronic invoice, and none of the normal paperwork, manuals, etc. for the opener itself. I only went with these guys because the car was stuck outside, and I always garage it, plus the storm coming later this week would've buried the car. I don't have good balance so having to manually clean the car was too dangerous. Beware of the hard-sell and I let him know that I was aware of that maneuver. They position themselves out of cars with no real office and I believe they probably target seniors, with the hard sell.

AB contacted me immediately by phone, told me they would have a tech out to me between 10 and 11 that day. Ben arrived within that time frame, determined the problem and quoted me a price. It has only been a week, but the problem appears to be fixed.

Angie sent me an email at 10:30pm and stated that an additional pro wants to give me a free estimate (I like this) on my garage door problem next day at 8:00am. I accepted the offer and Allen showed up at 8:00am. I have a two-car garage and one side the door opener was old and dead and other side I needed the replacement of springs and cables with pulleys for the safety. Allen agreed with me and gave me the good price. We made a deal. He went back to get the parts and Allen & his partner finished the work very efficiently well before 10am. I am very happy about the great job they have done.

After getting a completely out of this world quote from a different company (who took 3 minutes to assess and tell me that I should replace my entire garage door & motor), I felt it would be smart to get a second opinion and stumbled upon AB garage door. I am so glad I did; Alan was out within 24 hours. He was very thorough in his assessment and I felt I got a very honest opinion of what needed to be done. I was thankful to walk away with a smaller bill (and to continue using my current door and system) and when the time comes to replace everything, I will be calling AB Garage Door back up.

Great service and very reasonable! I called AB Garage Door on a Tuesday morning, Alan got back to me a little over an hour later and was at my house approximately 15 minutes after that. Wow! They fixed my broken cable, replaced a roller, and lubricated the mechanisms. My garage door now works like new. Agree with comments about being careful about other companies using call centers, etc. I made that mistake in the past. Highly recommend Alan and his company!
