A Better Exterior installed 7 new roofs and 7 mid-roof vents at our condo association. Daniel and his team provided outstanding value, quality, and customer service. The crew was respectful and professional. They always showed up on schedule and cleaned up the job sites every evening. The jobs were completed on budget and on time. I highly recommend this company for roofing services.

This company was great about getting back to me when I reached out and did quality work. They were honest about new materials that weren t as they should be and came out and replaced the materials that needed to be replaced after the job was done. Since these materials were on the roof there was no way I would ve known had they not shown me photos and been honest. After the job was complete, I referred them to my parents to complete multiple roofs in a condo complex. They too were very satisfied with the quality of the work.

What is the screening process that Service Professionals go through in order to become members of the HomeAdvisor network?

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.

Criminal Background Check

We use a third-party vendor to conduct criminal background checks on the owner/principal of each business*. This background check includes a search for relevant criminal convictions through a national criminal database and the sex offender database.

Licensing

We verify any applicable state-level licenses, and we require every business to attest that they carry the appropriate local licensing to practice their trade.

Identity Verification (Social Security Number)

HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number of the business owner/principal to confirm their identity. (This applies primarily to small businesses.)

State Business Filings

If a business states that it's registered as a corporation or limited liability company, we confirm that the company is in good standing in the state they're operating in.

*Corporate Accounts

Some service pros are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, you may be matched with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate service professionals. The above screening process is not applicable to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate service professionals.
