AC Electrical

I hired Tony from AC Electrical to install 2 electrical sub panels at my residence. 1 sub panel to be installed in my barn with 100Amp service and 1 sub panel in my shed with 50 AMP service. He started the job on September 1st 2022. Although he said he had the skills and experience for this job, the work he did leads me to believe he did not have the skills or experience needed to do this job. I am not an electrician but I do know some things about what needed to be done. According to current electrical code you need 4 wires (2 hot, 1 neutral, 1 ground) to a subpanel. The electrical code also states that this type of wiring needs to be in conduit, the entire path. He did not follow code and in fact some of his work was not even safe. The barn sub panel had 4 wires pulled to it but only 3 attached. The fourth wire was taped off at both ends. He also connected the yellow wire to neutral when this should have been to ground. In the other box he only pulled 3 wires, no ground wire at all. He also did not put the wire into conduit as per code. What is also worrisome is that instead of drilling the wire through the top plate in the wall he went went outside of it. Lastly electrical code states that each sub panel in unattached structures (my barn and shed) need an additional ground rod outside of each building. On top of all of this, there were 2-3 wires that had not even been tightened in the breaker panel. Tony may be Ok for electrical switches and outlets but DO NOT make the mistake I made and trust that he can do the bigger jobs.
