"Danielle, Thank you for sharing your concerns. We take customer feedback seriously, and after reviewing the original inquiry, proposal, correspondence, invoice, payment records, and subsequent communications, several statements in your review do not align with our records. Your original Angi inquiry requested a pre-purchase structural assessment regarding a foundation crack. Before the site visit, you also identified wood rot near the back door as a concern. You selected our Structural Engineer Site Visit Assessment and Consultation service. This includes an on-site evaluation of visible conditions and verbal engineering recommendations. It does not include destructive investigation, opening concealed construction, preparation of a repair scope, structural calculations, permit drawings, or contractor repair-cost estimates. During the visit, Linda evaluated the visible foundation cracking and deterioration near the rear door area and discussed her observations with your representative and with you. Your review states that Linda described the issue as ?maybe a $1,000 problem.? We have no record of Linda providing such a repair-cost estimate. Providing contractor pricing is not part of this service and is not AGGO Pro?s normal practice. If you have documentation showing that Linda or AGGO Pro provided a $1,000 repair estimate, we would welcome the opportunity to review it. Your review also states that Linda told you her ?only job was to tell me if the house was going to collapse or not.? Linda unequivocally disputes making that statement. It does not reflect how she communicates with clients or the professional engineering service that was contracted for and performed. If documentation exists supporting that quotation, we would likewise welcome the opportunity to review it. The conditions later identified?including the improper stoop construction, missing flashing, and the full extent of deterioration within concealed joists and subfloor framing?became known after the original non-invasive visual consultation. A visual assessment cannot determine the full extent of concealed deterioration without opening or exposing the construction. When you contacted Linda again on June 22 regarding possible additional damage near the back door, she continued assisting you. After reviewing the additional information, she recommended removing the exterior concrete steps, opening the wall from the exterior, evaluating and repairing the rim board and joist ends as necessary, waterproofing and sealing the area, and installing a new stair. We also need to correct the statement that you paid AGGO Pro $800 for this consultation. Our proposal, invoice, and payment records all show that the amount quoted, invoiced, and paid was $600. The $800 amount later appeared in Linda?s correspondence because that was the amount represented to her during the preceding phone conversation; Linda does not handle AGGO Pro?s pricing or accounting and repeated that amount without checking the billing records. We understand how frustrating it is to discover that repairs are more extensive and expensive than expected. However, the eventual contractor repair cost does not change the scope of the consultation that was requested and performed, nor does it establish that the full extent of concealed conditions could have been identified during a limited, non-invasive visual assessment. We take criticism seriously when we believe we have fallen short. We also believe public reviews should accurately reflect what was contracted for, what was performed, what was charged, and what was communicated. We respectfully ask that the statements regarding the $800 payment, the alleged $1,000 repair estimate, and the statement attributed to Linda regarding the house ?collapsing? be corrected if they cannot be substantiated.
