A Home Inspection is a risk management tool that pays for itself many times over. For buyers, purchasing a home is the largest outlay of cash they will ever make, a home inspection is part of a smart, most informed buying decision. For sellers, avoid having a wet blanket thrown on a potential sale by having a pre-listing inspection. Addressing problems before hand makes attaining top dollar more likely. With any home inspection what you are paying for is an opinion, I believe I have better/ expert opinions because I've done the actual work. I have 30+ years of experience, as a builder and construction project manager. I have been the person crafting solutions to the problems revealed by a home inspection. I am an ASHI Certified Home Inspector, ASHI is the certifying agency in the state for home inspection, and I have a BS in Mgmt. and a proud Air Force Veteran. I feel home inspection is my calling, and I love helping people.

Jim performed a pre-listing inspection for me. Drawing on his experience as a construction project manager. He was able to assess the problems with my house which were not as severe as we thought. Jim suggested repair methods that will allow us to re-coup an extra 100k on the sale. I wholeheartedly recommend ARS Home Inspections.

I hired ARS home inspection to complete a home inspection prior to the expiration of the 12-month builder warranty on my home. He spent approximately 2.5 hours conducting an inspection on a 5 BR/5 BA 3500 square foot home. This is the largest home I have owned and the inspection took about half the time most have in the past. He missed multiple issues, some of which I called him back to add to his report. The issues he missed were structural in nature such as a sinking foundation area and water erosion next to and underneath the HVAC pad. I would not recommend ARS at all.

We hired Jim couple months back for a inspection. He did a overall okay job but we were aggregated that he didn t go in the attic or the crawl space to inspect it because he said he can t fit . He also didn t inspect the water heater because it was incased in the wall but all you have to do is unscrew the door it has 6 screws and pull it to the side. It took me 2 minutes to unscrew it, it wasn t very hard at all. These are all pretty important so I was upset that they weren t inspected just felt a lack of effort. Other than that he was okay he was very friendly the process went smooth. I guess you get what you pay for.

When Jim Hammond came to do our inspection it was cold and raining. He spent the first hour outside doing all of the exterior inspection. Then he spent approx 3 hours inside and finally he did the crawl space inspection. His inspection was thorough and very professional. He explained everything to us, and even gave recommendations on how to correct some of the minor problems. Finally he explained how his report software worked and what his final report would cover. I figured maybe 2 - 3 days before we got his report but we got it approx 5 hours later. Very professional, very friendly and a real professional. I would recommend him to anyone, and if you need a home inspector, call ARS!
