good response time. however not the best price in the market. they got the job done and have no complaints on the performance although they had to come back to tidy up. i have yet to receive final warranty paperwork of the purchased AC unit.

I had a new floor added and the entire central A/C replaced with a Carrier heat pump and a 2 stage furnace. Their duct work was excellent. There were delays in getting the electricity meter and gas meter relocated by Con Edison that hindered their progress, but they were very patient. All of the work were performed in the winter with no heat in the building. I am very satisfied with the outcome.

On time, affordable, curteous, and pleasure to work with

I called ARS to replace a heat sensor on Saturday March 21, 2009 on my boiler and I was told that it would cost $199.95 for the labor and $300.00 to $400.oo for the part that I purchased for $19.99. I had purchased a service contract with them in October 2008 and I was told that they would come out two times on this contract anytime I needed them and that they would charge me only for the parts. This was the second call that I made to them. I used a different contractor in which the all project costed me $100.00

Our project combined replacing our 23-year-old gas furnace and adding central a/c. Frank Tomlinson, the ARS salesman earned our business by delivering high-quality equipment and service at a fair price, with no sales pressure. His obvious experience with actually having done the work he bid was invaluable. ARS delivered what they sold us on time (within a week) and the installation was completed very efficiently (two days, which included custom duct work.) A true test of any contractor is what happens when you call back with an issue. ARS was responsive, returning once to do what it took to "get it right." Highly recommended.

Work done as specified

What a wonderful job!!! I can't even describe what a phenomenal job ARS did in our basement. They re-did existing ductwork (made excellent and creative suggestions as to the best way to do the work) and also added new ductwork. They were extremely professional, very clean, and nice people to have working in my home. I would recommend ARS again and again.

Good price, friendly and efficient service

Everything seemed great but right after the installers left the Humidifier started to leak water. Lucky for us I discovered this put a bucket under the unit and turned off the water inlet. I called and the technician cam out and fixed the problem. An other visit(two actually) was required to stop a rattle in the duct work.

Brought wrong furnance. Had to reschedule with correct furnance. Even the second furnace was not ordered; evidently they don't make the furnace I ordered anymore. Installation of second furnace went smoothly. Installer of humidifier unit placed the system where I could not reach it to change the filter. A second installer changed the humidifier location so that I would have access.

They fixed the problem.

The American Residential Services-HVAC came on time and did a good job in assessing the heat.

The supposedly "free" estimate was not honored. ARS charged me $127 for their estimate, saying that because my central heating system need a repair, rather than replacement, they wouldn't honor the free estimate. Of course, they told me that after they looked at the system, instead of before!

They were the most professional of all the contractors I spoke with (3 others). They actually measured the vents, rooms, etc. which some others did not!?!! They were high priced, but I had better confidence, and hired them. It took a bit longer than expected (4 days, vs. the original estimate of 1-1.5).
