AZ Desert Painting and Drywall - Unlicensed Contractor

We needed 9 accent walls painted in our home. Peter (the painter) arrived on time and did a fair job painting the walls, but he also created other issues not entirely uncommon with painting. Specifically, paint was tracked on our tile floors and carpet. Additionally, there were dirty handprints from leaning against the wall while painting that could not be cleaned without removing the paint. There was a large spot of red paint left on a white wall in the Guest Room, and paint drips left on white doors. These were all discovered and discussed during our final walkthrough with Peter (on Day 3) and he promised to return to pick up touch-up paint and clean up indicated areas. Mistakenly, I took him for his word and paid him the agreed amount for the work with the understanding that he would come back to take care of the punch list. He has yet to return, though he has since promised to send someone else to take care of the problems. After about 2 weeks of texting and waiting (to no avail), I had to spend a half day matching touch-up paint, painting over the affected areas and cleaning up tracked spots from our porcelain floors. The stain in our bedroom carpet cannot be removed. We would have appreciated at least an effort to correct these issues. You should not have to clean up/touch up to this extent after a contractor. Hire at your own risk.

The only positive thing I can say is that the job is finished. At least 2 large holes got repaired, but the painting is poorly done. 5 large trash bags left behind. Both recycle and trash bins are full, plus several plastic pails left behind. My new can lights were removed for painting, now 6 do not work. I had to buy a shop vac to clean up the mess. Plus, the lock box was left lying open with the key exposed. I cannot recommend this business.

Peter was paid in full for a painting job of our hallway, Master bath and bedroom. Did not finish hallway and said he would return to finish. Several phone calls, text messages and emails were never returned. He left paint on our tile floors and all over the trim and ceiling. Spilled paint in our bathtub and left for the day. Worst painter I have ever seen. Also stepped in paint and walked through our hallway and left footprints. We had a different contractor painting g our baseboards and they left us unused paint which Peter opened and used it as garbage for his brushes. It cost me more money to get someone else to finish his job and he still has not returned my phone calls. If you want paint on your floors and cabinets this is the guy to call. I wish I could leave a picture to show how he ruined our bathtub.

Well they were late everyday. Took lots of breaks. Also told me that things were painted, like the ceilings which clearly weren't. The job was quoted to be 2 days which turned into 4 days. He gave me a sob story about how he was out of money so I gave him the rest of the money to go get more paint. He said he would come back and do the touch ups and never answered back to me. There is paint on my couches, brand new sheets, brand new carpet, counters, and the other flooring. Even on my clothes in the closet. I would NEVER hire these guys again. Btw it was Peter who helped me. Absolutely dis-satisfied!!!!!!

They did an amazing job correcting a major problem created by another painter that I fired.

Mixed feeling on Peter and his painting business. Seems to have done quality work. He painted my cinder block wall and front door. Was supposed to paint the cement border around my pool. Said he had to paint it another day and that he â  wanted to close outâ  meaning me pay the rest of the bill without the work being done. He said he hopes I trust him enough to pay him the remaining balance without all the work done to pay his guys. Me being a trusting person paid him the remaining balance and then of course.....crickets. Frustrating to say the least.

Will hire Peter again for my next painting projects

This painter did a reasonable job of painting our front door, however, when it came time to correct some flaws caused by improper masking tape, Peter DiVito totally broke down. When called for repair service he never returns calls in a reasonable time. And when finally contacted and appointments made, he never showed up. Corrections were never made. Seemed like a nice person, however, follow-up was unacceptable.

I am very pleased with the quality and timeliness. Peter is very professional and I felt very comfortable having him in my home. I live my kitchen cabinets! Best decision I could have made is hiring Az Desert Painting.

Peter showed up on time. Very nice to talk to. He explained his scope of work to us, he let us see what steps he was taking and let us review each step. He kept his distance from us regarding COVID 19. Very nice to work with. The work he performed was very good, you can t even tell by looking at the work where it began to where it ended. Very pleased with his work!! Would recommend him to anyone needing drywall work!

They were very friendly and efficient! I love my newly painted interior walls!

Great job of painting and communicating before the job, during the job and after completion. Will hire them again.

You need to be aware that they may try to charge you tax at the end of the job without telling you that's part not part of the bed

I would definitely recommend him. Over the years he has done multiple jobs for myself and my family, including repairing drywall in my bathroom once when my dog locked itself in and chewed it's way out. He has a vast skill set.
