Abbitt Appliance Repair

John Abbitt, failed to provide service after trouble shooting the issue with my washer. I was confident of his diagnosis and paid $125 for the part purchase. He failed to return and cancelled appointment when he did not arrive. Caused more issues of me taking off to be at home and he did not show. It has been over two months and the promised refund has not been made. He no longer fabricates a story and will not answer or return calls. CAUTION I do not recommend using Abbitt Appliance Repair, my patience with the matter is at an end.

This guy came out and collected $209 to repair my dishwasher. The fee was justifiable, as I paid for the part and the service call. However, he has now no-showed my five times, and is more than a week late in getting me my refund (which I don't anticipate he'll be any more responsive with that. I've given him 7 days to complete my refund or we will be in small claims, which is what I am anticipating.

This company responded to my request through Home Advisor, and, came to my home expeditiously. John assessed my repair needs, and received a check (deposit) for needed parts. I was given the total repair charge(s). After a few days, I had to call John for the status of the repair parts, and was told that he estimated that the parts would be in and my appliance repaired in (3) weeks. At this time, it has been well over the 3-weeks that I was told that parts would be in, and my appliance has NOT been repaired. To date, I have made numerous telephone calls, and, have had to leave messages, requesting for a status and to return my phone calls. JOHN HAS NOT RETURNED ANY OF MY PHONE CALLS! There STILL has been NO STATUS' GIVEN ON THE REPAIR PARTS AVAILABILITY, ARRIVAL DATE OR REPAIR SCHEDULE --- AT ALL! THIS IS VERY UNSATISFACTORY SERVICE. I DO NOT/WILL NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS COMPANY!

John said our dishwasher was fixed. We ran it and it still leaked. Then, after paying him for labor and the part, he will not come back out to fix it. So we've lost our money and still have a broken dishwasher.

He was very nice but took 1 week to finish the service and my washer was still not working properly. He was too quick to diagnosis the problem. Spent $360 and he wanted another $200 to repair it. I ended up buying a new washer. I wish he would had looked deeper into the problem before diagnosis it.

My first time using this ….HomeAdvisor Friday, 18Mar16 call in for my washer machine. I’m connected with Abbitt Appliance Repair. It starts off all good, he’s very personal and informative, and in my opinion he is very capable and knowledgeable of his work. He tells me I need a part, after placing an order, it should be in on Monday. He will install on Monday or no later than Tuesday. Monday, 21Mar, I call him to ask if my part is in? He tell me he will need to check and call me back. The part is in, he will come by on Tuesday at 3:00 pm to install this. Tuesday, 22Mar. I text him( wondering where he is), he ask me if he could come by on Wednesday, at 3:00 pm. I said okay. Wednesday, come still no repair person, I text him again, and say, “I don’t think i need to keep contacting him when I have appointment”, he calls me and say his job has taking longer. and ask again can he come by on Thursday? Thursday, its 3:00 pm, Im waiting.. I finally get a phone call, he tell me, my part is the wrong one, he will need to order the correct part. and he will come by on Monday (March 28) I should be the first one on his list. ( Im sure this will depend on if my part thats needed has arrived) Now, if this is the case with having the wrong part for my washing machine, my question is why wasn’t this discover on Monday or Tuesday, when you told me the part had arrived? I had to wait almost a whole week for you to tell me it was the incorrect part. Monday, 28March, I haven’t heard from Mr. Abbitt, I’m done with this, I’m left with an dismantle machine and out of $67.23 for the so call water Inlet valve. I understand when their is just one person doing all the work. things happen repairs take longer. there seem to be a scheduling problems. and bad customer service. I rather someone tell me upfront, that the repair will take a week, or it will take a week before i can get back out to you..rather than have me waiting day to day, and at the end of each day, I’m still waiting for my repair or waiting to just the see the tech again. this is a waste of my time.

John showed up on time 3/18/16....figure out what was wrong....he had to order the part....gave him 50,00 for the service call and 70.00 for the part....John was suppose come back on that Tuesday 3/22/16 . Never showed up...call numerous times, John has never returned my calls. At this point I would not recommend him

Do not hire John Abbitt! He took $120.00 from me..He came to my home bc my ice maker was not working. I gave him a checkfor $170.00, $50 for service call fee and $120 for the part. He was supposed to come Wednesday, did not come, did not call. I called him and left a message. When he called me back, he said he had such a bad day and also he did not think the part had arrived and he would come on Friday. On Friday he did not come, did not call. I called him and he said he had a really bad day and he wasn't sure if the part was in. He was going to check and said he would come the next day to install the part. He then called me to say he was going to the supplier to find out what had happened to the part. That was the last I heard from him. It has been over a week. He will not return my calls. I am out $120 and I still have a broken ice maker. How do people like that sleep at night?? At this point and time, I just want my money back and have told him that in messages I have left.

They have always been really good, and take care of us in a timely fashion. John is a good guy.

Reliable and courteous service

John was prompt, efficient, courteous, knowledgeable and very reasonable. Would definitely recommend him to others.

Machine could not be fixed. But John was very professional.

Wonderfully responsive and thorough

John arrived and accessed the problem. He did not have the parts on hand and asked I pay for the parts to order them. John said once he orders and receives the parts he would contact me, but I never heard back from him. I called John four times and emailed him twice, but I never heard back from him.

John was very polite and resolved my issue

He kept me informed of arrival time. Was very courteous and fixed my issue with my cooktop.

John went out of his way, came a day earlier than the scheduled appointment time, was quick and knowledgeable.

Worked within my schedule and actually got me in earlier than anticipated.

John Abbitt was very thorough with his work and took the time to explain the reason why my dishwasher failed. He provided a detailed quote with all of the estimated costs I would call him again for any appliance work because of his fair and reasonable pricing structure and the quality of his work. He was also courteous enough to call me to let me know how soon he would be arriving.

These surveys should come once notified the job is completed. This repair is not complete yet due to a parts order. Overall my experience so far has been great, but the final job is not complete.

John was extremely helpful, worked around my schedule, and diligently worked the job to completion.

Mr Abbitt called promptly actually, within a few minutes of my filling out the questionnaire on line. He called and was wonderful about scheduling the next day. I was really pleased. He called and kept me informed of his schedule and how soon he would be at our house. Although the stove was beyond repair, he was professional, polite and on time. Great experience. Thorough and on time

John was great. He was here in less than 24 hours. He found the problem right away and he reattached the dryer hose when he was finished! The service call charge and labor total for less than an hour was $120.00 (not including the part). This seemed a bit high to me, but I never hired an appliance repair person before. Other than that, he was wonderful.
