The chimney repair was in dire need of repair and problems were visually and expertly explained. Weather did not deter the contractor from doing the repairs. My recommendation is whole heartedly given.

Tim Doran of Academy Chimney was very professional. He gave me a detailed quote the day he came to look at the job which I believe was fair and reasonable, He described what had to be done and why, That was a new experience for me and an added surprise since my furnace is no longer kicking on quite so often. He introduced the men to me before he started the job which made me more comfortable. They repaired the chimney and parged the foundation. The work was completed on time and work area picked up. I would give this company a thumbs up and definately hire them again.

I have a brick retaining wall along the driveway that had started to deteriorate, with some of the mortar coming out and pieces of brick popping off. I hired Tim Doran to grind out and replace loose mortar and patch an area along the bottom of the wall where some bricks were broken or out of alignment. I also needed a crack across the bottom step of concrete steps filled. The quality of the work is awful. I called him to finish filling a section of the step that he missed and to do a better job on the wall, especially the area where he patched at the bottom, where he messily troweled mortar over it and did not totally cover the broken area. He filled the area of the step and put mortar in some areas that he missed, but refused to make the bottom patched area look professional, saying the flowers will grow up and cover it. I wish I could post photos here. The patched area looks sloppy and incomplete. There are still areas of cracked mortar around the wall. Including an area where the mortar is loose and can be moved. And the job looks messy, with mortar all over the bricks in some places. He said the rain will wash that off, as well as the stream of dried mortar running across the driveway from the step. Overall very shoddy work that is not worth half the money I paid for it.

They gave a reasonable price, explained the necessary work and were able to complete it quickly.

Completely and totally ruined two flues, left my house a mess and wanted to open up our walls to repair (at our cost). All over a simple installation of a chimney liner. Now having to pay $8000 for a new furnace because the flues where the furnace would vent are clogged and not usable and having to line the two fireplace flues where were in perfect condition before Tim started on the furnace flue. Having to make a claim on my insurance. We have spoken to a number of masons since and had them out to look and none can believe what happened and what he did. Think twice!

This company and Tim Durrant is a fraud . They did an incomplete job on a new liner ( I have pictures ) and the flue was not sealed . When I called him to inform about it , he started talking about how knowledgeable he is and started abusing me after some time . He is a fraud because he charged me taxes when installing a new liner is a home improvement and is tax free . When I called to point it to him , he denied returning the money . Please do not hire him , if you need to talk message me , I will send pictures of his shoddy work .
