Beware of dishonesty and his work. !!

I had Red to build a garage in November and I gave him a down payment of $1500.00 and he has been putting it off ever since, I called the lumber company and they said they are after him too because the check bounced

In 40 years of dealing with professional repairmen, Red was probably the least reliable professional that I have done business with. Multiple times he would tell me that he was coming to preform work at our residence and I would go out of my way to make sure that residents were available for him and he would never show up. On one particular day he removed all of the trim work from our home entrance door in our garage and said he would be back the next day to fix it and he never ever returned.

I am a HomeAdvisor client and the contractor did not take care of us. He kept putting us off and would not call back, we were left waiting for him on days he scheduled to come out to work and he would never show or call. The one day he did show up, he tore up the floor, then left and has not come back. We terminated him and now we are trying to get with him to settle and get our deposit back. Be cautious of this contractor, do not give any money until job is complete.

We hired him based on reviews from this site. It took four months with a deposit of $4,000 on April 30, 2018 until the 26th of August, 2018 and the job is still not done, certainly not to our satisfaction. I have been finishing the work he left behind myself. Excuses were abundant but days at our house spent working were few and far between. I finally fired him (with pay as he started ranting through texts about how he was about making people happy and not about making money). OK. He threatened us with liens even though I told him to give me a detailed bill which I had said I would pay. He claimed the project was complete even though wires are still dangling, steps not stained, lamps not installed, shed not sided the way we asked. I would NEVER hire this guy again or say a good word about his work.

Mr. Matheny was extremely personable and did an incredibly thorough job, including a number of things we had not asked him to do... he just walked around making sure everything was working properly.

The quality of work was excellent. The cost was actually less than the estimate. There were some scheduling delays.

"Red" was quick, professional, and did a good job removing my old dish from Dish Network (on the roof) and attaching an exterior antenna I bought. I get much better reception now.

I had an old vintage glider that had some loose screws. He looked at it and came back in a few days and repaired it. He also fixed an electrical outlet in the kitchen, free of charge. I have not actually used the glider since he repaired it, but was told to give him a call if it did not hold up.

Did a rush job for us to repair some windows that would not stay up in time for a building inspection. Friendly and Courteous. The price was a bit steep but he did drop everything to get it done in time for us.

I was pleased and enjoyed the details and conversation about the home and inspection.

I am so happy to have found someone who can do small or large repairs to our home!! It is such a relief to have found someone who is knowledgeable and responsible!!

If you need anything done, I would hire Mr Matheny. Very professional and honest. The pride in his workmanship is admirable. After seeing what he can do, you start thinking of other projects that need to be done!
