Run. Davell and his team were good with communication but it really ended there. We reached out to get a quote for asbestos removal. He was the middle of the road on price so we went with them. Unfortunately, our house was not sealed off properly. A piece of plastic hung over the windows with just two small pieces of tape. Seemed like it was really so you could not see in. The bathroom was not blocked off as there were flooring debris and dust all over. We asked if we needed to cover anything in the rooms not being worked on. We were told no the negative air would suck it out. Our kitchen was covered in dust. While cutting to remove the floor they cut too deep into the joists, repairs had to be made to those before putting the subfloor on. Meaning we as homeowners noticed and repaired ourselves for it could be covered. His team said they would install the new subfloor for us. The bedroom looked ok but when we came to check it out the subfloor in the living room was not installed properly. The joints of the tongue and groove ran parallel to the joist and were also in-between two joists. So if you stepped on the seam it just flexed downwards. We spent hours removing the subfloor and then asked them to lay it properly, instructing me them on how it should be laid and where cuts needed to be made. We also installed 2x4 supports throughout the living room because along the wall the subfloor was also flexing downward. Our hardwood kitchen floor now flexes because of how the subfloor was removed. The support is gone and it was not replaced. We were told they would have to remove the baseboards, but not the door moldings. We were never asked or told the moldings would be removed, and most of it was. Now we have to replace those. We also have to replace our bifold doors due to damage/hardware that is missing. We bought the guys pizza and pop on the night they worked late and they choose to dispose of the garbage in the crawl space beneath where they were working. The cleanup consisted of them possibly taking a broom and sweeping the floors. I used my shop vac after they left and man did it seem like nothing was cleaned. And they left their trash including the plastic used to close off the doorways. This is to be disposed of properly since it came into contact with asbestos. The removal of contaminants was in the quote. I could go on about how the subfloor removal was not bagged and disposed of properly. That everywhere they worked has issues outside of removing subfloor and moldings. That outside of the work area was left a mess and us having to clean at what risk with dust from asbestos removal. The project was quoted for 2-3 days. It took 5 days. All of these issues were brought up at the time of payment, and all that was said is thank you for the constructive criticism and apologies for the issues. Please stay clear of these guys. When looking for someone to remove asbestos ask lots of questions. Get pictures of their previous jobs. Do not be a fool like we were. We learned our lesson and paid the price.
