Deck, Fence, Patio or Porch Clean and Seal
A D A R was very prompt in staining my deck. I received my bid on Monday and the staining was completed on Friday . The cleaning, sanding, and staining (2 coats) were completed over the course of 3 days. It could have been sooner if cleaning and prepping wasn't required. Lynn was the only professional who actually brought samples of stain to match my existing color and she also asked to see the can of remaining stain from the last staining.

They were very helpful with our colors for our interior. The painting was good with minor areas of paint overlap. They returned and fixed those areas.

Lynn is wonderful and very helpful with color choices. They did a great job and came when they said they would be here. The only thing I wasn't thrilled with was some of the areas having paint splatters. I have other projects coming up and WILL use ADAR in the future, I'll just be sure areas are better protected.

Small Projects Painting or Staining
ADAR went the extra mile to help us find just the right colors for our home. I have had painting done before, which requires some disruption, but their help was most courteous and respectful, they did a great job and we appreciated their concern for our overall satisfaction. I intend to hire them again, as I feel we have finally found a really good painter.

Lynn Nichols and her assistant were timely and courteous. When the project was about half completed, we paid Lynn on the basis of time and materials, instead of her bid price. In that context, we overpaid, but under the circumstances, we consider that Lynn was fair. We were not able to support her schedule because of our inability to make decisions concerning colors and finishes. The bid price was reasonable for a professional quality job. Unfortunately, the quality of the portion of the job deemed completed by Lynn was sub professional. Specific problems include: incomplete coverage; paint slopped on walls, floors, windows was left without cleanup; incomplete wall prep prior to painting; little follow-up prep between coats. A closet was spray painted without removing the melamine shelves. As a consequence, the shelves, which required no painting, were partially painted, and portuions of the walls, which did require painting, received no paint. On the plus side, Lynn has a designer's eye, and she gave us good advice that we have relied upon. In short, we would not hire Adar for future paint jobs, and would not recommend Adar to others. We might recommend Lynn as a design consultant.

"This job was new construction in nature with poorly finished drywall, already primed by others, & of course we did not protect unfinished floors, etc. Their disappointment stems from the fact that paint didn't hide all & nearly one year since we left this job, & it sits in the same condition today, Still no colors selected which is the core reason WE WALKED OFF this job & charged only our time."

"This was a plea by a couple who wanted to stain/finish 35 new wood doors, to a black color, when told this was a very hard to do with the conditions required, We explained we'd prefer they sought out others to provide such services, to which they pretended to need substantial painting to the rest of their home as well, however once we finished the doors, they terminated the painting work."

There were areas that the painter power washed too much and they are very rough. I feel they should have been sanded more before they were painted.

"This lady is correct, there was a small area approx. 6 inches long where we did in fact overblast the wood attempting to get some stubborn adhesive off, and for that her complaint is valid. we pride ourselves on our integrity, and cannot deny she is right on this one."

This professional had spilled paint water all over our receptionists desk and barely wiped it up. We paid her the first half when she started and she kept asking for the other half of the balance before job was even finished. I do not appreciate the mess she left behind. Very unprofessional and I would not recommend.

"During our final day on this project, It was clear this client; a hair removal clinic, had no intention of honoring their agree ment regarding completion payments, we then pursued the issue, at which point they became less than honest in their business tactics, as well as this review."

The project took longer than anticipated and I think that the painters were in a hurray to move on. They did an excellent job of patching and repair in the house but could have spent more time on the details (the woodwork)

We had previously had a terrible paint job done by a different painter in a new home we bought. We contacted Adar through Service Magic. When Lynn arrived at our home we liked her instantly. She was very personable, professional, and made us feel like she cared about our job, and wanted to complete a high quality product. We hired her to repaint our entire downstairs, and it turned out beautifully. What a difference a professional paint job makes!

"Somehow we ended up at fault when they didn't' like the colors- except this couple had definitely different ideas as to colors for their home, and after having painted the living room twice, and the kitchen three times it went from their argument, to our fault, we were happy to finish this one."

Enjoyed all of the Adar people - very nice, very courteous. One time mix-up (which could have been a miscommunication between my husband and me). I assume the price was competitive - I liked Lynn & did not obtain additional bids. Overall quality was good in the main part of the house. I was a little disappointed that sealing & painting over the wallpaper didn't turn out quite as well as I expected from our conversations, but it is acceptable. They worked hard to correct this and it was a small part of a big job. All in all, a good experience & I would hire Adar again.

Lynn was extremely easy to work with and always returned calls as promised. Unfortunately the job site was left a bit messy (I'm still finding drops of paint in rooms where they washed brushes, etc.) And the attention to detail, i.e. in the corners, around towel racks, etc. was less than hoped for. Otherwise, they were very professional and did a fine job.
