Basement - Remodel
Is anyone looking for a good contractor? DO NOT reach out to Rick! Trust me when I tell you, if it is time sensitive, or want to job finished in general, DO NOT waste your time. Once you sign a contract, you have got a good month and a half before he even gets a building permit and starts He will absolutely insist that he can accommodate any budget PLUS he is the Jack of all trades (just ask him) Once he gives you an estimate, be prepared because he is just grabbing numbers. Permit? he will guess a price. Is it habitable space? You better get on google for that one. There are a few conditions though. He will tell you that the job is possible in a specific time frame and then come up with every excuse in the book as to why it is taking longer. But, in reality, it is because he picks and chooses when he wants to show up (if he shows up at all) BUT do not you dare tell him you are not available 1 out of 7 days in the week. That is completely unacceptable and he will be looking for more money. His time is very valuable, after all. Your time-not so much. He will continuously say you will never meet a contractor that will come at consistently OR give a estimation of completion date. (I wish I was kidding!) Do not worry though, he will have his daughter with him to get started on the project of your dreams. He will just have to leave in a daily basis to do some odd jobs, because, well, he has got a business to run. Do not even get me started on his professionalism. If he wants to work last minute on the weekend and you say you are not available, he will throw a HUGE fit (to the lawyer you will have to hire) but you will have absolutely no idea, because he will say no problem, have a good weekend to you. If you have read all of this and still want to give this clown a try, Here is where I really want to warn you after he says he cannot come work on the project that day, he will ask to come get his tools from your house for some jobs he had to do. Do not worry though, he will be sure to steal all the materials that are not screwed to the floor that yo have already paid for the job while loading up his tools.(he will leave that part out of his text though!) Please though, I mean it guys. DO NOT ask his why he is taking your materials. He will say you are threatening him. He will say they are not really yours even though their in your basement and you have already paid 100% materials. So if you want a job done in the next 3-33 months OR want to spend some extra money and time hiring a lawyer and taking him to court, Please, reach out to Rick at Adirondack Prime Contracting, for all of your contracting needs.
