"Karla was a very special woman, and we were blessed to have met her. When we came out to her house she informed us that she wanted us to test her water and quote her on a new chlorine pump and servicing her equipment. While she was standing there watching, I turned on the hose bib to test the water and then shut it off. It was leaking and would not shut off all the way because the hose bib was old and the seal was bad I asked her if she wanted me to replace it or leave it alone. She asked me to replace it and asked the price. I felt bad having to charge her anything since I could see that she had the cheapest water treatment equipment possible and did not seem to like paying even for a service so while checking the softener I updated the settings because it was using 4x the amount of salt from what it should be. I charged her for replacing the hose bib and let her know I also fixed the settings on her valves. She paid but also lamented to me about how her house was so old because it was over 10 years old and how they had just spent tens of thousands of dollars putting on a new roof and new granite countertops in the kitchen. I gave her the quote and thanked her for the time, and she was very friendly. Apparently after a few hours or after talking to her husband she called home adviser and accused us of breaking the hose bib and said she did not want us to do any work. However, she did ask us to replace the hose bib. I called her to see why she complained. She said she did not want to pay anything and was mad. I told her I could put the settings back on the valves to what they were before and put the old hose bib back on and refund all the money if that is what she wanted. She said no. She wanted the benefits but did not want to pay for it. Then she hung up the phone on me. We sent her money back since I really do not want money from someone who would treat us like that anyway. I am just glad that we were able to do our part in improving her property at our expense so that every time she adds a bag of salt or uses her hose bib she will remember that there are people working hard to provide her a life of luxury."
