DATE OF SERVICE: â ¢ October 5-9, 2020 BRIEF OVERVIEW: For those of you who are not interested in the details and simply want the bottom line: â ¢ We had three large evergreens that were close to the house and posed a constant high-wind threat. Slightly beyond were seven more that were â aestheticâ removals. All were in an area of our landscaping that, while not â groomed,â still required a light touch. â ¢ Darin and his five-man crew spent 5 intensive days climbing, limbing, topping, falling, chipping, hauling and cleaning. From beginning to end they were skilled, efficient, conscientious, and pleasant. â ¢ My wife and I are both retired ICU nurses. We performed at the highest of standards and always anticipate the same of others. Darin and his crew exceeded our expectations in every regard! â ¢ We have absolutely no regrets! If a need arises in the future, we will contract Darin and ATM again without a second thought. â ¢ We unequivocally and enthusiastically recommend Darin Shoemaker and Advanced Tree Removal. DETAILS: BOSS Darin Shoemaker is an outstanding man. He is bright, articulate and observant. On his first visit to evaluate our project he was on his way home after a very long day. Nonetheless, he spent more than an hour walking the area with me. He listened carefully to my requests, explained what could and could not be done, and offered alternative suggestionsâ some that actually reduced the extent of the work and all of which we ended up following. He noticed details that others had failed to see e.g. the location of our nearby septic tanks and drain field. Most importantly, it became clear that he was a person that I could trust. Darin was only the second contractor that I spoke with but he was the last. CREW Except for a few brief absences, Darin supervised and worked alongside a five-man crew: Butch Randy Oscar Lupe Austin All were experienced and skilled and they worked well together. In the mornings they would gather for a few minutes and Darin would delineate responsibilities and reiterate the goals for the day. There was always an emphasis on safety and communication. WORKMANSHIP / WORK ETHIC Darin and his crew worked efficiently and hard and they clearly took pride in that. Our west patio was on a small knoll above their work area and I often sat and watched them. It was a delight! Lupe was the climber on this job and it was fascinating to watch him deal with his various lines, harnesses and saw. Darin had a Bobcat with a grapple attachment that he used to move the smaller trees and generally police the site. His skill and precision was amazing and he used a trackhoe for the larger logs with equal dexterity. I would usually chat with the crew for a few minutes at the end of the day as they were preparing to leave. They were always proud about what was accomplished and pleased with the progress toward the desired end result. BOTTOM LINE: To reiterate the statement above: we unequivocally and enthusiastically recommend Darin Shoemaker and Advanced Tree Removal
