Back in mid June I found APA through Home advisor, and scheduled an appointment online for a diagnosis of one of my A/C zones that wasn't working. I kind of knew that the system was old and would probably need to be replaced. They came as promised, and quickly gave me options for replacement. The installation was within days, not weeks like other companies had told me. They were very professional, neat and respectful of my house! They went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied with the work before final payment was made. I would use them again to maintain my systems.

The contractor showed up at the appointed hour on time, I was at work and my wife was at home. He diagnosed the leaking central a/c air handler to be the result of a clogged drain. No estimate was offered and I authorized the work against a $99 service charge. He removed the PVC waste drain and cleared it. He had about 1.5 hours on the job. To my shock I was presented with a $469 charge. I called the office to ask how such an outrageous total was calculated. I was expecting time and materials which in my opinion is reasonable. Management stated they DO NOT use T&M but "fixed rate". I strenuously registered my objection only to receive a "10% preferred customer discount". The total came to $422. Adding insult to injury, no bill or other record was left at our home or delivered by email. I would not use this contractor again and if you like your money, I would suggest you call a different HVAC contractor. Update: Coincidentally!?, the day I submitted this review for approval by Home Advisor for posting, I get a call from the company asking if my service was okay. I responded it was but ridiculously expensive. I asked again for a written bill/receipt which I was promised would be emailed. Company failed to deliver it. Exercise caution if you choose to do business with this company.
