This company did an amazing job! They came when they said they would, they put in long hard 10 hour days. Our siding was so bad... They put James Hardie siding in the front and T 111 in the back, and it is beautiful. Every seam is sealed, all the windows sealed, waterproof barriers installed, flashings where they belong, Not one splinter left on the property, they came the made my house beautiful and left. Great price, hard workers, prompt and courteous!! Recommend them highly!!!!!

While they did install the doors, windows, and Hardi plank siding quickly, there were issues with wrong materials installed, damage to landscaping, damage to A/C unit, and poor clean up. Contractor installed 1 sliding door of lower quality. (400 contractor series vs 900 pro) without any notification. 30 foot 12 year old Jasmine plant was chopped down even after repeated requests and acknowledgement that it would be handled with care. Other plants and trees damaged as well by poor handling of tear off debris. External A/C unit was damaged by installation team's improper handling and movement. Also repeatedly ask for nail sweeps to be completed to prevent accidental injuries on my property which was never completed. Even though I was promised 100% satisfaction I was not offered any compensation for damages or replacement of incorrect material. Contractor said cost of seamless gutters were an additional upgrade over the material he was going to install. Contract stated replace 7" gutters, he purchased 5" vs agreed 7" and after realizing that they were incorrect subcontracted the installation of 7" seamless gutters. He stated that the additional cost for 7" seamless gutters should compensate for the other items. Increase in cost was never agreed to or discussed until I asked about compensation for damages and incorrect material. When reviewing the issues after the job was completed I was only offered excuses and "These things happen" never any apologies or compensation. Due to the issues encountered and most importantly the way they were handled I could not recommend Alco to anyone replacing siding on their home. While the siding appears to be installed correctly, cleanly, and looks great, the lack consideration to home owners landscaping and attention to details (wrong door /wrong gutters) leaves me with concerns about any unseen issues not addressed or highlighted by the contractor. Trust is essential in this business and cannot say that Alco earned my trust.
Response by Alco Exteriors: The installed sliding door was a 460 series and is designed for a new construction installation (nail fin) which was needed for that opening. The retro fit 960 series door, which was used on the other side of house would not fit in the space where the 460 series was installed. This was explained to the homeowner and agreed upon. Additionally, the homeowner had requested that the jasmine plant be handled with care which prompted us to spend numerous extra hours trying to remove the plant from the siding, but there was no way to save the plant. This was due to the unfortunate fact that the jasmine plant had grown into the old shingle siding for 12 years making it impossible to remove in one piece. While it is always the ultimate goal to preserve the original condition of a homeowner?s property, there was over 2,400 square feet of old siding removed from the home, which required us to get along side of house where a few small shrubs were located. Upon assessing the home before the job began, it was explained to the homeowner that in the processes of removing the siding some plants may be put at risk for damage, which he acknowledged that he understood. Additionally, during the installation process a small ground wire became disconnected from the A/C unit, which we were not sure if we were responsible for, nevertheless it was a 15 minute fix and a $115.00 service call which the homeowner was compensated for in additional time and materials. Furthermore, anyone who has every participated in the shingle removing process of a home knows that there are thousands of nails that need to be accounted for to ensure that none are left on the ground. Therefore, a magnetic nail wand was used extensively at the end of each day to guarantee a clean and safe job site. The contract stated that the homeowner wanted 7? rain gutters from Home Depot that were not seamless and needed to be painted. Upon installation it became apparent that the requested gutters would look bad with the new siding and paint. Therefore, I elected to upgrade to painted seamless rain gutters, a $400.00 expense, at no extra charge to the homeowner. This was not because they were wrong size but because of how much better they would look on the home. At the completion of the job the homeowner expressed his complaints which he was then compensated for in $600.00 worth of free siding for his outside shed, and $300.00 in free dry rot repair. Overall, the homeowner was given $1,300.00 in free material and labor in order to guarantee the ultimate customer satisfaction Alco Exteriors strives for. While all efforts were made to make the homeowner 100% happy we apologize for any dissatisfaction the customer experienced during this process and will move forward with the homeowner?s critiques in mind.
