Asphalt Paving Installation
To all who consider using American asphalt , Runaway!! They are not stand up businessmen! They will promise a 5 year warranty which is worthless ! Had my driveway done by them for 15k , it is the worst 15 k I have ever spent . Not even a month after it was done I have at least 30 tire depressions and sink spots . I have called and texted the owners many times and got empty promises when they answered . Much like many of the other reviews I have recently read. Had a drain put in front of my garage that is useless because the water puddles before it gets to the drain . They have promised to come back and redo the driveway but never follow through . Now they wont even answer my call . Runaway do not give this company your hard earned money . Pay more from someone else .

The project was never finished. They start job 2 in afternoon and they never finished because it got dark and they did not even have a flashlight to finish the work. And they leave a big pile of broken concrete and dirt. Before they go they asked me for full payment for unfinished work. (They never come back to finish the job) Fortunately, I only paid 80% and that was too much because it cost me more than 20% to finish the job. The quality of their workmanship is unacceptable because after rain the water stays like in a swimming pool. After they left, (I did not find the blower that I let them use)

Job professionally well done. They installed belgium block along the sides of my driveway as well as repaving my driveway. I have done my own stone work in the past and was impressed by their worker's stone work. One side continued on to the gate into my backyard and they paved this path also. The work was completed in one day and I am pleased with the result. Shortly after the driveway cured we had two days of rain. All the rain water drained off the driveway into the street as it should. Their customer service of this three generation family owned business was great. I would recommend Bob and Mark his son to my friends and neighbors.

They installed a new asphalt driveway they upset the neighbor taking his hose messed up his property which became bad for us. They took out his edging on his driveway. They left the area a mess with tar and cement residue on the sidewalk and on the street in front of our house. They left a on our freshly painted white cement steps it looks sloppy. They left their garbage from lunch and construction materials which wasn't that bad but should have made it cleaner and taken it away with them. Contacted the owner he said that he would come and take the garbage but we had to smooth things over with the neighbor the owner did not want to address this issue. As of today he has still come back to rectify this situation. When your in business you need to leave the site clean and neat. I am sad I didn't go with our first estimate it might have been a much better job.

Constant delays before the job started. A week after the install after curing I parked cars on it and my tires sank into the asphalt overnight. I called Bob said do not park on it for 3 days and I will be out to fix it. This was December, I have left messages and txt them. If they call me back they say next week and never show up, it is July. I have got a useless 5 year warranty that they will not come back to fix. I'm going to Angi claims court to resolve. If that does not work then small claims court. You can still get quotes because they talk to Angi but will not call me back, shameful. I have got a wavy $4200 driveway with depressions and it just keeps sinking. I will NEVER use Angi for anything. Run away from American Asphalt.

The owner promised to do the whole pave way from the bottom, with new stones, and remove the concrete in front of the garage. But while doing the job he only removed the surface asphalt, never removed the crashed stones below, he did not remove the concrete either. He said it is not necessary to remove both of them. But he asked for the full money for his job. I felt he lied to me in the beginning. As there was another company that told me it is not necessary to remove the crushed stone beneath, they offered a lower quote, but they could not do it in Oct. so I went with All American Asphalt. Overall The job was of good quality, but he over-promised and overcharged me for his job.
Response from All American Asphalt
"Frances, we did not lie. I apologize for the misunderstanding and if you feel you were overcharged we actually did remove the concrete at the garage. But no we did not remove and of the gravel, underneath the old driveway, we just add to it. I did not overcharge you, you could have gone with the cheaper guy."

Bob and his crew work hard and overall my driveway looks good. All work is guaranteed for 5 yrs. When getting a estimate, get it from Bob! His son (Mark) gave me an estimate. When doing the estimate, I had 2 tress on the side of my driveway that needed to come down. I told Mark that the trees would be gone and the stumps grinded before the driveway could be started. Mark never said anything about removing stumps below grass and roots. Bob charged me extra for the roots and stump. Once the driveway was started really nothing I could do. The quality of work so far looks good, but the customer service need helps. Had to play phone tag with them to get job started. They also removed belgium blocks from a walk way to put around the driveway and did not want to replace what they moved, after a talk with Bob he replaced them. Was it just a off day for them? Do not think I would hire them again.
Response from All American Asphalt
"Sorry about the phone tag. But what I will say is, when you told Mark you were going to have the trees removed and the stumps grinned. It was assumed that it would not be an issue because you had it taken care of. Upon arrival and there was a giant tree stump that took us over 4 hours to remove. Yes, that cost extra. I would hope you would understand that. I do not think the extra cost should result in a 2-star review. Because the driveway looks great and a few neighbors even went with us because of the work we did. I apologize for the inconvenience and extra cost, but I hope you can understand why you paid for it."

Felt like they rushed the job and the edges are sloppy along the grass. They covered the back edging along the side of my driveway in some areas. Clean-up was not good. They also broke my back gate and hose reel.
