Drafting or CADD Service
$2,200
I hired him to do the drawings for my addition, but when I took it to the city for the permit, they said it was missing items and that the items that were missing were very basic things that he should have known how to do. I had to guide him on what to do, it has been a challenge. He is no longer taking my calls, via text he says he will call back but never does. I paid him half upfront, then the balance when he gave me the PDF drawing for a total of: $2200. Every time he has made a “correction” the city said that he doesn’t know what he is doing, they gave me a sample of what it is supposed to look like, I gave it him and he still never made the changes. The guy at the city offered to talk to him and help him but he never answers the phone. I wanted to work with him, I feel he is either too busy with bigger projects or he just doesn’t know what he is doing. His PDF that he sent me actually was forwarded to him and he sent it to me, so I am not sure if he is actually doing the work!

"Paride, First you demanded I go to the city with you, draftsman do not do those things. I received your request to speak with the city on the phone for the first time this past Friday 2-9-18, thy are closed Saturday and Sunday, today is Monday. I have TEXTED and CALLED you all day today with ABSOLUTELY NO REPONSE. You wrote an entire review, that probably took you forever to write lies about me, when you could have spent that time on the phone with me to take care of what I could for you. I have received NO RED LINES to tell me what is wrong with the plans and you certainly have not sent me "anything" to fix or what they are "SUPPOSED" to look like, I don't even know what that means? I have done nothing wrong to you and what you have written is all lies. I am sending Home Advisor all of our REAL texts and show them the truth to have this removed. Even after such a horrible review and being so nasty, I am still willing to help you and will try calling the city in the morning. When you have a hard time understanding the process it is hard for "YOU" to understand, not everyone else around you. I am shocked that you say you guided me and told me what to do. When the truth is I spent hours of EXTRA time trying to work with you and help you understand. I never once did not take your call. Why you would be so mean and hateful is just beyond my comprehension. 2-13-18: I just spoke with the city of Phoenix and there are literally two minor things that he needs taken care of and I can not get a return call from the homeowner. I am not sure how to proceed without his cooperation. UPDATE: 2/14/18 YESTERDAY SPOKE WITH THE CITY AND I AM IN THE PROCESS OF A FEW SMALL DETAILS THAT NEED TO BE FIXED IN ORDER FOR PLANS TO BE SUBMITTED. THE HOMEOWNER CONTINUES TO BE RUDE AND NASTY TO ME REGARDLESS OF MY CONITUED HELP, REDLINES ARE PART OF THE PROCESS AND ARE INCLUDED IN MY PROPOSAL / ESTIMATE AND HE IS STILL NOT UNDERSTANDING."

Norman was an easy contractor to work with, but his level of perfectionism was below our standard. He originally spoke of the sub contractors that he would be using on our project, yet decided that he would do this project himself. Problems with that included electrical work done not to code, shower floor tile laid poorly, screws missing from hinges, wall texture poorly done, sink cut on side of vanity top instead of center, shower head hung crooked, as well as shower valve not working Norman did hire an electrician and tile layer to correct his errors, but it would have been easier on us if professionals did the work to begin with.

The company claims that no job is too small, however, my job must have been too small for them to worry about, because I kept getting put off and delayed while they worked on larger budget jobs. Subcontractors wouldn't show up when scheduled, and the owner did not take responsibility for the delays...always blamed others. I was told it would take 2 weeks, and FINALLY, 6 weeks later it was finished. I would absolutely NOT recommend this company at all!

They finished on time but never kept their word about what they were doing. It was one inconvenience after another, even when they promised otherwise. The overall value was fair. They tried to overcharge me for sales tax.

I would highly recommend Wassenaar Construction for any home construction project. Not only did he build the patio roof (the original project), but he laid concrete, installed an outside flood light, and painted the house. All of the projects I wanted done, he was able to do and at a fair price. Norm was very personable and professional, and his crews and sub-contractors were excellent! If you need project done, and done well, this is the guy to do it.
