This was the worst experience ever. I found them on line and after speaking with Charles Smith, who assured that they DID NOT subcontract and that all of their employees are Vets, I hired them. The bill ended up being about 2000.00 more than quoted, but we did indeed add some items. I do believe they quoted the price lower than they should have to begin with. After they got my initial deposit, the price went up and I had to pay more just to schedule the pick up. I was told that I would only have to pay enough to bring the balance up to half due when they picked up but that was not true. They also wanted cash, but I was told by Cal, Charles had mysteriously vanished, that I could pay with a credit card or check. They wanted and extra 5% to pay with a card and would have to wait until my check cleared the bank, at least 7 days, before they would deliver and it had to be cash or a postal money order at the time of delivery. Did I mention that it was NOT All American Van Lines at all that picked up my items? It was AJ Express and none of the workers were Veterans. When they were done loading the truck, one of the workers handed me his iPhone and asked me to sign, stating that it was authorization to deliver to my new address. As I said, it was an iPhone and I still trusted these guys, at least a little, so I signed, of course I want my things delivered. When they delivered, I almost cried when they opened the back of the truck and I saw all of my things just crammed into the back of the truck. The buffet for my china cabinet was crammed sideways on top of everything. It did indeed fall when they started to remove items. This was not the same truck, nor the same movers who so carefully packed my things when they picked them up. This was a full size semi tractor/trailer, and the driver pulled up in front of the house and started pacing off steps to the door and counting stairs and wanted extra money because it was more than 50 feet. The driver said I signed an agreement stating I understood this when they left after pick up and provided me with a full copy of the item I signed on the iPhone. He started talking about government regulations etc. My husband told him to back into the driveway, problem solved but it ended up being a couple hundred dollars more. That driver never provided a receipt when asked for one. We know where that money went! After the truck was emptied of my things the driver said lets count the boxes, but stuff was placed everywhere and no accurate count could be made. They did not reassemble furniture as promised either. I was glad, I just wanted these crooks out my house. I am missing two items and there are several damaged items. I have tried several times via phone and text to contact customer service, the original representative I talked to, Charles Smith, and then Cal to get help with filing a claim but no one has returned my calls. I have had to replace some things and so far it is been out of my pocket. Be careful with these people, they are less than honest.
