I received 3-5 quotes (and a half-quotes) and schedules from various asphalt pavement installers - Hardrock was the highest quote offered but only by $1000 or so including the special sealing option which no one else offered. You really need to have pavement done right the first time, otherwise the 'rip-up' to fix it later on alone will cost just as much as the original job. My $12k driveway job was for ~150' single lane and a big driveway pad off the house, included 4"-6" of compacted QB gravel base then 3"-4" of I5 asphalt, then included the $2000 special chemical seal coating treatment that can only be done right after laying hot asphalt and avoids the need for bi-yearly sealing for the first 7-10 years. From my research, this design and plan exceeded what most people do for a residential driveway. The 'actual' laying of foundation materials and the pavement from what I witnessed appeared more than what was contracted, and has held up perfectly for the first year so far. No sinking or cracking - there are only a few rock-pebble pops over the entire driveway. Ideally, if you can avoid using the driveway for a full month after install - that will reduce scuffs from deliveries and visitors as the pavement needs about a month or more (actually months through the hot summer) to fully set-in and cure. The owner was present and working the job for about 2/3 of the day, and overall the team of 8-10 guys did a great job. Pavement was laid while it was sunny. I can recommend Hardrock for those who want a strong driveway done right

He did an excellent job with the driveway. However, his machine damaged my drainpipe...crushing the lower part and pulling it away from the house. I sent a note asking him to fix the drainpipe, but never heard back. The drainpipe is now supported by a brick ....and it's been more than a year.

The job went great. They were very punctual, sealed a few small cracks and completed the job in a timely fashion. We would definitely recommend them someone and would use them again. Thank you!

They came out clean all the debri off driveway and seal coated it. very good job

The package was supposed to include filling cracks. Extra seal was added in a somewhat sloppy manner where cracks existed, but the cracks were by no means filled. Also, the seal coat was very, very thin. Now that it have a been a few months, it seems even thinner. I can easily see uneven streaks on a sunny day. My driveway looks a little better than before, but it wasn't worth the money. I would not use them again.

very quick and efficient a mother and daughter team. The amount of initial agreement was 701 sq feet but our drive way was about 100 sq feet more (two car wide and deep) this was identified in the add to be a possibility for increase monies if more than 701 sq feet at .30 per sq ft. Well worth it but maybe want to take this into consideration for future services to just up the amount of sq footage to 800 and bank in those extra costs still a good deal.
