Out-of-State Moving Service
This was without a doubt the very worst move experience I have ever had. The help I received prior to the movers was not at all adequate, as I kept saying that I had "a lot of stuff" but the only questions were about furniture, not household goods, outdoor equipment. Try as I did, I could not get conversation to go in that direction. 2 men arrived to pack us and they immediately knew that (a) the job was for more than 2 men and that the truck they had was inadequate. In the end, a number of things were simply left behind because there was no room on the truck. There was no effort to secure a larger vehicle. I gladly paid the huge price increase as I was aware that I had partial responsibility for the breakdown in communication regarding quantity. The lead packer (who was probably the only positive aspect of the entire ordeal) indicated that he would do what was necessary in order to be the driver of going across the country. I spoke to the office and let them know when we would be able to accept delivery. From that point, we entered into a period of radio silence. I finally was able to reach the driver and told him that I was not receiving any return calls from the company. He intervened and I finally get a call saying "We're very busy." I was told that a semi would deliver our belongings. I stated that such a vehicle would not fit in the cul de sac where we were now living and that I expected the original packer to deliver our goods. The response was that I might encounter add on fees of as much as $1,000 to shuttle our belongings. I was reminded several times that I had more items than the original estimate until I loudly reminded the company that I paid a huge increase to have most of the items moved and that there was no effort to secure a larger truck to move everything. I also stated that we expected, as discussed, the original packer would deliver our goods. I was informed that "They will tell you anything". Great. Who do I trust now? After much hassle, the goods came in a smaller truck that was able to park close to our home. Next problem:The company sent our original mover and hired a helper. The helper was hired for a period of 3 hours, creating an impossible task. The goods could not be unloaded in that time. In addition, the original packer had to return the truck to a rental place and make a 5PM flight out of Seattle. That meant he needed to leave by 2 at the very latest. Needless to say, goods flew off the truck making checking the inventory absolutely impossible. We were not even able to check items on the inventory list. Both my husband and I were moving items off the truck but many boxes were left in our unattached garage. And then we discovered that a number of items were not on the truck like our living room sofa, half our dining room chairs, rugs, files, clothing boxes to name a few. We received most of the items about 10 days later. That delivery began with a heated argument when my husband asked the driver to back up the

Promises, promises. Two movers showed up and had difficulty speaking English. They got into a fight and my son-in-law helped them move as one of them wouldn't work with the other one. They showed up with no packing materials that I had paid for. We also booked a transport for our car, which was booked on April 5,for a date to pick up on either May 28 or 29, at the last minute they couldn't find a trucker until the day we had to fly out, May 31,so our neighbor had to step in to help us out. Then they made us pay another $150.00 because it cost them more. We had a binding contract. I have called the company over and over with the promise they would credit my account. I am still waiting for my credit. I think they hold out in the hope you give up. DO NOT DEAL with this company......Not at all professional.

Several items were irreparably broken. They sent four strong men to pack my home, two to move items in. One of those two complained about items being heavy. Several other points that I believe they should have made very clear and didn't. They charged extra for more stairs and long distance to walk to the condo. All this once they have your belongings, so you have to pay. Very expensive for poor quality moving. BE FOREWARNED!!

Movers arrived at the destination and attempted to just drop and run when the agreement was for them to unpack and place. This was done for my parents who are 92 yrs old. DID NOT GO WELL!

They need to send an interpreter along with crew. Almost all of boxes were marked where to go but they all ended up in spare bedroom. I had to open boxes and lug my things all over the house to where they belonged. Very bad customer relations dept. To charge so much they should have done a better job.

The men who picked up and packed my load said these guys were not movers, they just added $$$ to the estimate for themselves and then scheduled me with a real moving company. so, in other words, GO DIRECTLY to the moving company in the phone book. The team that wrapped and took my stuff was polite and did a good job of wrapping, but obviously threw things around in transit because several things were broken, (a large art piece I paid extra to have packed and a marble top from a dresser) and you get 30cents a pound insurance.....not even worth a claim. I would not hire this company again.

My experience started out fine until a couple days before moving time. That's when I learned that the customer service agent I spoke with originally at the beginning told me several things that were not true just to get my business. One was telling me they got approval for me to pay with a credit card and that wasn't true. I ended up having to rush to obtain money orders. Also, several times someone at dispatching was supposed to call me back and didn't. She was very short with me and informed me that she was very busy and couldn't call. My gut was telling me not to go with this company because they requested money up front. I was told by a different company that this is a red flag but because of several things customer service told me, I went with them. The packers/moving guys knew what they were doing and worked hard. I only had one issue with them and that was when they were unloading at my new place. I had written on top of the boxes what rooms the boxes should go in. After they left, I discovered that many boxes were not placed in the correct rooms.

Don't hire them. They keep you in the dark on when they will arrange movers to move your belongings. I am moving on Friday, 6/15/18 and yesterday they just told me when the movers would be here. I am still waiting to hear when they will transport my car!!!! Today is 6/12/18 and I still don't know when they will pick up my car!!! My contract stated that June 15th would be the pick up and I have heard nothing!! I call and get no answers!!!! Don't hire this company!!! Disappointed that Home Advisors would recommend this company!!!!

These people low ball the price and dont tell you that pounds are added by packing materials they use to protect your goods. Make sure you READ the extremely long contract before you sign it. Their customer service is terrible. A piece of my furniture was damaged and they have made no effort to repair or even contact me regarding the damage. All State is a broker. You are better off speaking directly with the people actually doing the moving.

When All State Movers (they use local jobbers) pick up the goods, they have you sign all the forms and give you copies of the forms except for one set (which I didn't realize at the time). The one set they keep is the cost of the move with add-ons. On the day of delivery for my goods, the move cost more. They had written in additional fees, WHICH MAY HAVE BEEN LEGITIMATE, but I didn't know about in advance. When I called customer service while the movers were still at the house, the customer service woman, just kept saying you signed and approved the charges, we will just keep the goods until you want to pay the difference. Not smart business at all. Let the customer know up front what the additional charges are. Don't be deceptive!

I work in TV and completed my move with All State Movers in March 2018. Horrible experience. First off, I had moved from Kansas City to Charlotte with a different company based in KC that was fantastic (late 2017). I would have used them again but they're not a Charlotte based company. From that move, I left most of my stuff packed and in storage knowing I may need to move again for a new job. Initial costs with All State Movers were comparable to the other moving company (which I still thought was high given most of my stuff was already packed sitting in storage). But costs kept going up for this or that. Then I ultimately had to spend much more to get a guaranteed date of delivery or go without my stuff an extra 1 to 2 weeks. Total cost wound up being $2,500 more than my movers from KC to Charlotte and those KC movers gave me a guaranteed 3 to 4 day delivery window unlike this company. Plus, quite a bit of damage to my furniture with scratches and chunks of wood gouged out. Wouldn't recommend this outfit to anyone. Use at your own risk.

Need you to call me. First they did a telephone estimate, but now that the people have shown up to move us, they increased the estimate to twice the cost, making the move unaffordable. It seems that the binding agreement doesn't hold water. To add to the insult, they were supposed to show up at 7 AM, THEY SHOWED AT 2 PM.
