"Thank you for the great review, Bob. It was a genuine pleasure working with you. Feel free to contact me concerning any future projects, whether it brings me work or not ie; references for other trades, where to find materials...etc."
"There are two sides to every coin. Here's my side. First, I visited you at your site 7 times before work ever started because you didn't understand what needed to be done or changed your mind. Other jobs, once or twice. I had a plan; install the boat ramp and then the bank stabilization but you wanted to do the bank first; micromanaging in my book. I acquiesced even though it was more difficult. You didn't like the rip rap the quarry was supplying so you went to the quarry more than once. I had no control over the size of the rip rap. It comes from 2 piles and it is what it is. You changed your mind several times about saving the Hickory trees; even to the point where I was about to bring them down in a matter of seconds. I saved them but it cost me more trouble and work working around them. You were also told that the bank would not be as straight because of those trees and the sycamore. If my estimate was so outlandish why did you hire me? When you complained about the price of the concrete work I checked with the competition and they were 37% higher than me. I had recommended a 60' boat ramp. You wanted a 30', I suppose to save money but agreed to a 40' ramp. After the ramp was dug and sloped you said it was too steep and requested a 50' ramp. A small fortune for seeding and mulching? $450 is a small fortune? 3 people, a tractor with a straw blower, about 20 bales of straw (some hay) and about 35 or 40 pounds of seed. Once it's down it is your responsibility to water it. I am surprised that, if it's as you say, that it didn't grow. I will reseed at no cost. Just call me and I can probably get there in a day or two. On the majority of my jobs I request the owner to be present, if possible and it would be helpful. That way, we can be on the same page and we both end up happy. You voluntarily told me you were happy with the work at the end and asked me if I was happy. Then we shook hands. Remember? In your case with the micromanaging and changing your mind, it was not a pleasant experience like all the other jobs listed below where the home owners were pleased with our work and said so in the comment section."
