"We do apologize that there was any confusion, but our technician diagnosed it and advised it was not worth repairing. We also provided the customer with a discounted service fee because we felt he already paid enough for a refrigerator that is not working. We received a phone call from the woman he purchased it from and explained the situation to her as well. It is possible that something was lost in translation, but we efficiently completed the job and aren't sure what more we could have done.
