"We are sorry to hear that you had a bad experience. Looking back to the documents we have on file and text that we keep for every client. We did not charge you for the change in paver. The colors you had chosen were fairly similar we completely understood that our supplier would have made the mistake. We took care of it and ordered the right material, they took back the wrong material ( I have all documentation if you need it) You were only charged for the huge boulder rocks we spent days cutting in order to save you money on machinery (we had limited access to your backyard) and for the work you kept adding to the initial project plus the change in design after we had already cut pavers. Your project was not 20k but it did keep increasing since you kept adding items. At first we were called to complete a basic backyard project with fence. You later added 2 tone colors to your paver patio with double edging, later you added side steps and another small patio to the side of your house, you also added Belgium blocks to the edge of your driveway. If that is not reason to increase your project cost we don't know what is. You had even called us to do your sod weeks after we were finished. We even had to rearrange the side patio for you a multitude of times since it was not to your liking even though we had discussed the design prior. A whole day spent rearrange and cutting what we as professionals had advice you wouldn't be a desired design. This is where the charge came from, we charged you $180 which was to cover the cost for the pavers ONLY we had already cut to make the design you had chosen initially. Which later we had to change because you didn't like it. We DID NOT charged you for labor only MATERIEL cost. We saved you money by removing the cost of dumpster to the contract and only adding the difference of cutting the HUGE boulder rocks. Three whole days were spent cutting the 2 huge boulder rocks that by the way weren't visible when we first visited the site and needed 2 of my guys to cut and remove thus the reason we tell clients our prices are ESTIMATES. There are simply to many variables that can alter pricing but even with that we worked hard to keep you on track. We personally helped you in posting the rocks on marketplace to help you dispose of the rocks, this way you wouldn't need a dumpster and we could remove the dumper rental cost and add it to the cost of removing the Boulder rocks. We personally went to the property every time someone responded since we didn't want them to bother you and your 2 year old boy. Even going as far as arranging what was left on the side of your home in a small retaining wall NO charge. Also if you would like a copy of our license and a copy of our insurance we would gladly sent it. You can also visit consumer affairs at https://www.njconsumeraffairs.gov/hic they will ask for license number which is on your contract. We are 110% a company. Hope you have a great day!!!"
"This project was completed. River rocks were replaced, stairs were replaced, railings were replaced, retaining wall was replaced. We completed the work."
"Client first came to us 2 years ago wanting to add a concrete patio. They did not do the project then and 2 years later called to get this project started. I explained that pricing had gone up (everything the last 2 years has gone up) for everything but they still wanted the same pricing given to them 2 years prior. We went back and forth on pricing and from the beginning we felt uncomfortable with the price break they requested but we still gave them a huge break leaving us with close to NO PROFIT!!! As we discuss with all our clients, prices given are estimates since there are many unforeseen circumstances that can arise. One of which was the level of their already existing concrete patio (which was not done by us), because of this existing patio a drain system had to be put in place other wise water would collect and puddle along their patio (this was shown to them) Again we had to have uncomfortable conversation with them since they were reluctant to pay any additional money even after showing them what we were referencing. I again gave them a huge break, only charging for material. Not to mention they also had us do a level and grading of ground for a pool installation while there for close to nothing money. There were 2 stones missing that were part of a forced add on by them which was never discussed but even that we gave to them for FREE. We are not sure what else these clients wanted from us other than a FREE job. No one works for free!!!"
