Cabinets Reface, Custom Cabinets Building Service,

About us

At Aloha Cabinetry, you'll work directly with the people who build your cabinetry. We are not a high-volume production shop with an inventory of premade stock cabinets. We focus, instead on the customers and projects at hand and move to the next only when we are satisfied with the results. Our custom cabinets and furniture pieces are hand-made with the finest materials and machinery. We work closely with each customer to help refine their ideas and offer our expertise in woodworking. Our highly-skilled craftsman take pride in their work and focus on every aspect of construction, such as selection of wood and type of finish. From design to installation, we aim to make the process as simple and enjoyable as we can. Are you looking for dovetail, lap or mortise and tenon joinery? Is your designer specifying undermount full-extension, overtravel, or standard 3/4 extension drawer slides? The choices in custom woodworking are almost endless. At Aloha Cabinetry our approach to craftsmanship is consultative, Our cabinetmakers and craftsman have the expertise to transform your every need into the appropriate woodworking solution. But understanding what you need is not always easy. We work closely with every client to help them understand the available options and the affect each one has on the delivery and cost of the overall project. The following list highlights some of the standard elements of our craftsmanship: MATERIALS We carefully select all our hardwood and sheet goods for consistent grain and color match and with no visible defects. We use only the top quality hardware from reputable suppliers. Typically our choice of hardware will depend on its durability, availability, and quality. If the part specified is not available from our regular suppliers, we will be happy to locate it and qualify it for appropriateness. FURNITURE CASEWORK Although there are few guidelines which dictate how furniture should be built, the design is really only limited by ones imagination. Cases, doors, and drawers can be made utilizing man made sheet goods for speed and affordability or meticulously grain matched in solid wood with no mechanical fasteners for a more fine furniture feel. As a standard: *Our doors and drawers are solid wood. *We us mortise and tenon, biscuit, and pocket-hole joinery in our case construction. *All panels float to allow for expansion and contraction. *Our back panels are recessed into rabbet joints and are finished with the same attention to detail. CABINET CASEWORK In contrast to fine furniture, cabinets generally follow fairly common industry standards-- kitchen base cabinets are 24" deep to accommodate standard appliances. We build all our cases in patterned melamine or 3/4" veneer plywood as specified by the client. Casework is constructed in as few pieces as possible to create a more refined furniture look, while adjoining cabinets get loose stiles to avoid the distinctive "modular look." When building face frame cabinets, our preferred method is to glue our solid wood face frames to the case for strength, durability and aesthetics. This eliminates the unsightly nail holes and produces a better finished product. DOORS In all but a few circumstances, we purchase our doors from three major door manufacturers. The result is a better door, wider selection, shorter build time, and lower cost. DRAWERS Our standard drawers are made from 1/2" 9-ply Finnish birch with a floating 1/4" birch bottom. We use an extremely durable drawer lock joinery method to construct all of our drawer boxes. Other options available: dovetail, stapled, 5/8"-3/4" solid wood construction, 3/8"-1/2" drawer bottoms Slide options: 3/4" extension, full-extension (overtravel), tandem undermount
